I like that this week has eased into the craziness that is the fall season. Just a few new shows every night, the pvr is getting used to taping more than one thing a night. A couple of the bigger premieres are dropping tonight and they're both on The CW. One I'm pumped for, the other, not so much. Let's take a look at what the night has in store for us.

Fall 2011 TV Season - Thursday
So, next up is Thursday nights and quite frankly they scare me. They are so jammed already and that's without these new shows. Thankfully I don't watch the highly loved Bones and The Mentalist. That would drive me up to 11 shows just on a Thursday for those keeping track. Let's not waste anytime blabing away here, because Thursday is truly the best night on television. Except for maybe Sundays are certain points of the year.
New Shows
Charlie's Angels: 8:00 - ABC - September 22nd
Everyone deserves a second chance -- even a thief, a street racer and a cop who got in a little too deep. After all, the three women who solve cases for their elusive boss, Charlie Townsend, are no saints. They're angels... Charlie's Angels. Set in Miami, this fun, glamorous, action-packed take on the 1970s smash hit series introduces us to three new angels, all fearless detectives, head-turning beauties and close friends. There's Abby (Rachael Taylor), a Park Avenue princess who became a world-class thief. Then there's Kate (Annie Ilonzeh), a Miami cop who fell from grace, losing both her career and her fiancé. Finally there's Gloria, a disgraced army lieutenant who has a way with explosives. When one of the angels' missions ends in Gloria's tragic death, Charlie persuades them to partner with Gloria's childhood friend, Eve (Minka Kelly), a street racer with a mysterious past. They may not know each other yet, but one thing's for sure -- Abby, Kate and Eve will always have each others' backs. "Charlie's Angels" stars Annie Ilonzeh ("General Hospital") as Kate Prince, Minka Kelly ("Parenthood," "Friday Night Lights") as Eve, Rachael Taylor ("Grey's Anatomy") as Abby Sampson and Ramon Rodriguez ("The Wire," "Daybreak") as Bosley.
I've just discovered Minka Kelly in Friday Night Lights and while she's alright as a going through life teenager with teenage troubles. This looks pretty awful. Thursday at 8 is already too cramed for me. I'm going to give this one a pass.
How To be a Gentlemen: 8:30 - CBS - September 29th
HOW TO BE A GENTLEMAN, inspired by the book of the same name, is a comedy about the unlikely friendship between a traditional, refined writer and an unrefined personal trainer. Andrew Carlson (David Hornsby) is an etiquette columnist whose devotion to ideals from a more civilized time has lead to a life detached from modern society. Infectiously optimistic, Bert Lansing (Kevin Dillon) is a reformed "bad boy" from Andrew's past who inherited a fitness center, but can still be rude, loud and sloppy. When Andrew's editor, Jerry (Dave Foley), tells him to put a modern, sexy twist on his column or be fired, he hires Bert as a life coach in the hopes of learning to be less "gentle man" and more "real man." Andrew's mom, Diane (Nancy Lenehan), and his bossy sister, Janet (Mary Lynn Rajskub), support the plan, as would Janet's husband, Mike (Rhys Darby), if he was allowed to have an opinion. Though Andrew and Bert's views may be centuries apart, they may find they're each other's missing link.
Oh boy, the guys from Entourage really aren't getting good work post-Entourage. Damn this looks awful, I can't imagine this keeping a lot of the lead-in from Big Bang Theory.
Person of Interest: 9:00 - CBS - September 22nd
stars Jim Caviezel, Emmy Award winner Michael Emerson and Academy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson in a crime thriller about a presumed dead former-CIA agent who teams up with a mysterious billionaire to prevent violent crimes by using their own brand of vigilante justice. Reese's (Caviezel) special training in covert operations appeals to Finch (Emerson), a software genius who invented a program that uses pattern recognition to identify people about to be involved in violent crimes. Using state-of-the-art surveillance technology, the two work outside of the law using Reese's adept skills and Finch's unlimited wealth to unravel the mystery of the person of interest and stop the crime before it happens. Reese's actions catch the attention of the NYPD, including homicide detective Carter (Henson), and Fusco (Kevin Chapman), a cop who Reese uses to his advantage. With infinite crimes to investigate, Reese and Finch find that the right person, with the right information, at the right time, can change everything.
Umm, if you've been on this blog before you know I'm kinda a fan of Lost and by kinda I mean huge Lost fan. So you give me Abrams and Emerson again and I'm there. Throw in a Nolan and I'm there. Sure it looks a little bit too much like the prequel to Minority Report. I really hope this doesn't turn into a procedural and I REALLY, REALLY hope that there is a serious on-going plot. I'm there. I'm so there at 9:00 with bells on.

I'll admit, three years ago when The Vampire Diaries started, I wasn't too excited about it. I thought to myself, this looks like it's oging to be 90210 with Vampires. Boy, was I wrong. Turns out to be a pretty awesome show. But this one, this really does look like 90210 with Witches. I'm going to have to pass on this one. I've watched the promo a couple of times and nothing is really pulling me in and making me say, I so need to watch this.
Whitney: 9:30 - NBC - September 22nd
A hilarious look at modern love, "Whitney" is a new multi-camera comedy series about Whitney (Whitney Cummings, "Chelsea Lately") and Alex (Chris D'Elia, "Glory Daze"), a happily unmarried couple. Together for five years, the duo is in no rush to get hitched. However, after attending yet another one of their friends' weddings, Whitney realizes that she and Alex are dangerously close to relationship boredom. Determined not to let that happen, Whitney consults her close circle of opinionated girlfriends -- including Lily (Zoe Lister-Jones, "The Other Guys") and Roxanne (Rhea Seehorn, "The Starter Wife") -- and then snaps into action. A few awkward sexy costumes and one botched seductive evening later, the couple ends up in the emergency room. Even so, Whitney and Alex realize that while their relationship might not be perfect on paper, they really do love each other -- and that works for them. Also starring are Maulik Pancholy (NBC's "30 Rock") as Lily's perfect boyfriend, and Dan O'Brien ("How I Met Your Mother") as an eternal bachelor.
Oh Whitney, I want to like you, I want you to be successful. Can you be? Sure. Will you be? I don't think so. I'll watch the pilot, but I think it might be a struggle.
Prime Suspect: 10:00 - NBC - September 22nd
Based on the critically acclaimed British television series of the same name, "Prime Suspect" has been redeveloped for American audiences by writer Alexandra Cunningham ("Desperate Housewives," "NYPD Blue"), director Peter Berg (NBC's "Friday Night Lights") -- and stars Maria Bello ("A History of Violence") as tough-as-nails Detective Jane Timoney. Timoney finds that being a homicide detective in New York City is tough enough and having to contend with a male-dominated police department to get respect makes it that much tougher. She's an outsider who has just transferred to a new precinct dominated by an impenetrable clique of a boys' club. Timoney has her own vices too -- with a questionable past -- and she tends to be forceful, rude and reckless. But she's also a brilliant cop who keeps her eye on one thing: the prime suspect. Also starring are Aidan Quinn ("Unknown"), Brian O'Byrne ("Flash Forward"), Tim Griffin ("Star Trek"), Kirk Acevedo ("Fringe"), Joe Nieves ("How I Met Your Mother"), Damon Gupton ("The Last Airbender") and Peter Gerety ("Blue Bloods").
Ok, so Prime Suspect in the UK with Mirren is like Britains greatest export. I really hope they don't mess this one up. I'm loving the promo and I think Bello is the perfect choice. I just started a marathon of Friday Night Lights a few weeks back and I loved what Berg did with that so what I'm saying is, I'm on board for this one as well. Damn Thursdays are going to be busy.

The Big Bang Theory: 8:00 - CBS - September 22nd
Where we left off:
When Bernadette announces that she has earned her Ph.D. and will be getting a well-paying job soon, the guys take advantage of degrading Howard for being the only non-doctor in their group. Bernadette decides to buy Howard an expensive Rolex watch as a present. Meanwhile, Leonard and Priya's noisy sexual encounters annoy and disgust Raj; ultimately, he agrees to become Sheldon's new roommate and let Leonard live at his apartment until Priya finds her own place. Later, Priya receives a video call from her parents and still doesn't want to mention her relationship with Leonard. Eventually, Leonard discovers that she was planning to move back to India the following month then tells Priya's parents about their relationship. Raj provides Sheldon a fancy meal as part of his "temporary roommate agreement". Eventually, Penny comes over and ends up getting drunk and sleeping with Raj. At the end of the episode, Sheldon discovers Leonard sleeping on the couch at their apartment, just before Howard knocks at the door and announces that he had a fight with Bernadette over the watch, and Raj and Penny come out of Leonard's room after their encounter, leaving Howard, Sheldon and Leonard confused.
This one is for sure on my list of returning shows I'm most excited about. What will be the fallout of Penny "sleeping" over.
Community: 8:00 - NBC - September 22nd
Where we left off:
As the paintball game continues, it takes a dramatic turn with new participants entering the game. The study group realize they must unite to defeat the enemy despite disagreements about strategy.
Another one I'm pretty pumped for, the producers and the stars have talked about exploring the relationship between Jeff and Annie a bit more this season.
The Vampire Diaries: 8:00 - The CW - September 15th
Where we left off:
Elena and Jeremy try to return to normal activities by attending Mystic Falls' screening of "Gone with the Wind". Meanwhile, Stefan seeks for Bonnie's help to find a cure for Damon's wolf bite, which is slowly killing him. He asks Bonnie to help him contact Emily so they can find a cure for Damon. Emily refuses to cooperate, but Bonnie hears the witches say a name: Klaus. Stefan goes to see Klaus and asks him for the cure. Klaus says he must first keep his promise to Elijah, that he would reunite him with the family he killed. He then betrays Elijah, stabbing and killing him with the dagger for the second time. Klaus reveals that his blood is the cure for a werewolf bite. In exchange for a vial, Klaus wants Stefan to become a ripper again and leave Mystic Falls with him. Stefan agrees and drinks human blood to prove himself. Sheriff Forbes attempts to ambush Damon at the Salvatore house, but Damon escapes. Jeremy is the next to intercept Damon and brings him to the Grill. Sheriff Forbes finds them and shoots at Damon, but hits Jeremy instead. Bonnie takes him and begs the witches to bring him back to life, which they do, meanwhile warning Bonnie of "consequences". The news of Jeremy's revival reaches Caroline and her mother, who make amends. Elena finds a delirious Damon and brings him back home, where Elena kisses him after Damon confesses his love for her. Katherine interrupts with Klaus' cure. Later, Klaus tests Stefan once more, asking him to chase and kill a human girl. Once Stefan does this, Klaus says they can now leave Mystic Falls. At the Gilbert house, Jeremy is awakened by noises. He goes downstairs, where he finds his deceased vampire ex-girlfriends Anna and Vicki.
Parks and Recreation: 8:30 - NBC - September 22nd
Where we left off:
Pawnee's favorite miniature horse, Li'l Sebastian, dies and the parks department organizes a memorial service. The extremely health-conscious Chris learns he has tendonitis and takes it very badly, but is comforted by Ann. Leslie and Ben have trouble keeping their relationship secret, and their efforts to do so causes problems with Li'l Sebastian's eternal flame that nearly kill Ron with a fireball. Tom and his friend Jean-Ralphio successfully organize Li'l Sebastian's service, which helps inspire Tom to leave city hall to start an entertainment company with Jean-Ralphio. After the service, Ron is taunted by his ex-wife Tammy, but both are horrified to learn his first ex-wife, also named Tammy, has arrived in town. Leslie is approached to possibly consider running for elected office, but when asked about any potential scandals, she neglects to admit to her secret affair with Ben.
Grey's Anatomy: 9:00 - ABC - September 22nd
Where we left off:
News of Meredith's dishonesty in the clinical trial comes to light, leading to unanticipated consequences for both her and others. Cristina finds herself in a compromising situation, which forces her to decide between her career and her relationship. Meanwhile, Owen posts his decision for chief resident and Teddy makes a surprising choice regarding her love life -- and her future.
The Office: 9:00 - NBC - September 22nd

Brennan's father Max was also a part of the victim's bowling team. Meanwhile, Angela works from the hospital via webcam as she comes closer to labor. Brennan has a secret that will change her and Booth's lives forever: she is pregnant and Booth is the father of the child.

With the Practice undergoing an investigation by the medical board, Violet decides to leave all her problems behind by going on a book tour. While Addison gets a very tempting offer from a mystery man (Benjamin Bratt) to go to Fiji. Although, Addison isn't the only one with a change as Naomi gets a life-changing offer with Fife. Amelia and Charlotte come to blows after Amelia is spiraling down either further with her sobriety. Pete also has a certain spiral after he has an issue of his own that could turn out to be fatal.At the end of the episode, Pete has a heart attack in front of Lucas.

What's Playing in the Media Room - September 13th 2011
It's been a great summer, broke my foot and had a root canal. Ok, so that wasn't good, but other than that it's been a great summer. Watched a great amount of summer television and caught up some amazing shows that I've missed. Hello Misfits and Friday Night Lights.
But it's now time for the Fall TV Season to begin, it's a quiet night for sure. But we're getting there.

I've looked at both Monday and Tuesday and it's time to look at Wednesday.
New Shows:
Up All Night: 8:00 - NBC - September 14th
A modern take on parenthood that shows the challenges of balancing a career, marriage and a new baby. Christina Applegate ("Samantha Who?") stars as Reagan, a successful public relations executive, and Will Arnett ("Arrested Development") plays Chris, Reagan's supportive, stay-at-home husband. The two have just become parents - a surprise that has set their lives on a new path as responsible adults -- for the most part. Maya Rudolph ("Saturday Night Live," "Bridesmaids") stars as Ava, Reagan's outlandish boss and best friend, whose whirlwind social escapades serve as constant reminders of Reagan's former carefree life. James Pumphrey ("High Road") portrays Brian, Reagan's socially awkward hipster assistant.
I've watched a few different promos for this one and while they aren't bringing anything new to the table, I can't help myself laughing uncontrolably. If they can keep that laughter going for a full season the show should be very successful. The cast looks great with SNL alum all over the place and people love Christina Applegate and Will Arnett (Which I don't understand) for that matter. I'll check out the pilot for this one for sure and go from there. I just hope that all the funny parts aren't in the promos.
The X-Factor: 8:00 - FOX - September 21st

Reid and Nicole Scherzinger will travel the nation searching for undiscovered talent 12 years old or over - both solo artists and vocal groups - who are worthy of the largest prize in television history: a $5 million recording contract with Syco/Sony Music. Hosted by Steve Jones, the two-night series premiere of THE X FACTOR will showcase the live auditions which took place in front of audiences of thousands, around the country Wednesday, Sept. 21 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Thursday, Sept. 22 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Auditions from Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, Newark and Seattle, as well as from YouTube and the nationwide MyStudio audition booths, will continue the following week on Wednesday, Sept. 28 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Thursday, Sept. 29 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT).
How can't you love Simon and really that's all I've got to say about this one. Paula is back as well. I'll be watching for sure, the first few weeks of shows like this are always entertaining. The only downside to shows like this is the commitment involved to keep up with it. But Simon, you'll always have me as a viewer, sure he's harsh, but he's truthful and that can't be denied.
H8R: 8:00 - The CW - September 14th
Celebrities go head-to-head with civilians who hate them to win their "haters" over. Hosted by Mario Lopez.
I first learnt about this show while watching The CW fall preview and this looks like the worst show of the season, plus it's hosted by Lopez. You can just tell every segment will end the same way, I hate the celebrity version of the "celebrity", but I don't mind the actually person. PASS all around.
Suburgatory: 8:30 - ABC - September 28th
Single father George only wants the best for his 16-year-old daughter, Tessa. So when he finds a box of condoms on her nightstand, he moves them out of their apartment in New York City to a house in the suburbs. But all Tessa sees is the horror of over-manicured lawns and plastic Franken-moms. Being in the 'burbs can be hell, but it also may just bring Tessa and George closer than they've ever been. Tessa (Jane Levy) and George (Jeremy Sisto) have been on their own ever since Tessa's mom pulled a "Kramer vs. Kramer" before she was even potty trained. So far, George has done a pretty good job of raising Tessa without a maternal figure in their lives, but suddenly he's feeling a little out of his league. So it's goodbye New York City and hello suburbs. At first Tessa is horrified by the big-haired, fake-boobed mothers and their sugar-free Red Bull-chugging kids. But little by little she and her dad begin finding a way to survive on the clean streets of the 'burbs. Sure, the neighbors might smother you with love while their kids stare daggers at your back, but underneath all that plastic and caffeine, they're really not half bad. And they do make a tasty pot roast. The show stars Jeremy Sisto ("Law & Order") as George Altman, Jane Levy ("Shameless") as Tessa Altman, Carly Chaikin ("The Last Song") as Dalia Royce, Allie Grant ("Weeds") as Lisa, Alan Tudyk ("V") as Noah Lerner and Cheryl Hines ("Curb Your Enthusiasm") as Dallas Royce. Ana Gasteyer ("Saturday Night Live") guest stars.
I give this one a month, oh Rex Lee how far you've fallen since Entourage. How did so many good people get sucked into this one?
Free Agents: 8:30 - NBC - September 14th
"Free Agents" is a crooked workplace/romantic new comedy from creator John Enbom ("Party Down") and Emmy Award-winning director Todd Holland ("Malcolm in the Middle") based on the cult U.K. series of the same name that explores the trials and tribulations of two public relations executives on the rebound. Alex (Hank Azaria, "The Simpsons," "Huff") is newly divorced and can barely keep himself together while his co-worker Helen (Kathryn Hahn, "Hung") thinks she has it together but is obsessed with her deceased fiancé and actually is falling apart. Then a drunken Alex and Helen end up in bed together, and in the resulting sober confusion, Helen decides that they should only be friends. Meanwhile Alex's co-workers, Dan (Mo Mandel, "Love Bites," "Modern Family") and Gregg (Al Madrigal, "Wizards of Waverly Place," "Gary, Unmarried"), and Stephen (Anthony Head, "Merlin," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer") fail in their attempts to help him get back out on the dating scene. When Alex finally agrees to a date, Helen gets a little jealous, and he gets cold feet, so they end up back where they started -- in a casual, intimate and beautifully awkward relationship. Also starring is Joe Lo Truglio ("Backwash," "Mad Love") and Natasha Leggero ("Ugly Americans," "'Til Death").
I've watched the first 15 minutes of the British version of this show and I turned it off. I didn't find it that funny, while I do normally enjoy British humor, I just couldn't get into this one. For some reason I think that Hank Azaria will turn off a lot of people. Going to pass here.
Revenge: 10:00 - ABC - September 21st
Wealth, beauty and status define the people in this town, but one woman is willing to destroy everyone for the sake of revenge. Emily Thorne (Emily Van Camp) is new to the Hamptons. She's met some of her wealthy neighbors, has made a few new friends and seemingly blends into the town. But something is a little odd about a young girl living in a wealthy town all on her own, and the truth is that Emily isn't exactly new to the neighborhood. In fact, this was once her old neighborhood, until something bad happened that ruined her family and their reputation. Now Emily is back, and she's returned to right some of those wrongs in the best way she knows how - with a vengeance. When I first went through everything and I was putting my schedule together I initially left this one off my must watch list. But the hype I'm seeing on twitter over this one has been quite high the last week. To the point where my interest has certainly been built up. I'm going to check out atleast the pilot for this one although I'm not a huge fan Emily Van Camp.

Survivor: South Pacific is the twenty-third season of the American CBS competitive reality television series Survivor, which will premiere on Wednesday, September 14, 2011. The season was filmed in the vicinity of Upolu, Samoa, which is the same filming location as season 19 and season 20, and it will also serve as the location for season 24. Redemption Island, first introduced in the prior season, will return. The season will premiere on September 14, 2011 at 8:00pm eastern time and will be a ninety minute debut. This season will feature 16 new players to Survivor, as well as two returning players: Oscar "Ozzy" Lusth from Cook Islands and Micronesia, and Benjamin "Coach" Wade from Tocantins and Heroes vs. Villains.

Josh (Paul McCrane) sings "Is It Okay If I Call You Mine?", the same song McCrane wrote and performed in Fame.
Say what you will about this one and I've read it all. Each week the show really did get better.

Fall 2011 TV Season - Tuesday
So yesterday I took a quick peek at the Monday lineup, so naturally today let's take a look at Tuesday's lineup
New Shows:
Last Man Standing: 8:00 - ABC
Today it's a woman's world, and this man's man is on a mission to get men back to their rightful place in society. Tim Allen returns to ABC in this new comedy from Jack Burditt ("30 Rock"). Men may have built civilizations, invented the locomotive and created ESPN, but they're about to find out that it's not a man's world anymore. You can't get manlier than Mike Baxter. He's the marketing director for an iconic outdoor sporting goods store, he loves to have adventures while he's traveling for work and, of course, he drives a pick-up truck. While Mike is king of the hill at work, he's the odd man out in a home that is dominated by women -- namely his wife, Vanessa, and their three daughters, 22- year-old Kristin, 17-year-old Mandy and 14-year-old Eve. After being a stay-at-home mom for years, Vanessa recently returned to the workplace and was quickly promoted (much to the dismay of her primarily male co-workers). As a result of Vanessa's increased work load, Mike is pulled into more hands-on parenting than ever before. The show stars Tim Allen ("Home Improvement") as Mike, Nancy Travis ("So I Married an Axe Murderer," "Three Men and a Baby") as Vanessa.
You might as well just call this Home Improvement 2.0 as it appears to be that Tim Allen is still playing the toolman, sure that worked for many years. I was just hoping that he'd be bringing something else to the table here. The supporting cast looks pretty good, just not good enough to suck me in.
Man-Up: 8:30 - ABC
Three modern men try to get in touch with their inner tough guys and redefine what it means to be a "real man" in this funny and relatable comedy. Will's grandfather fought in WWII. Will's father fought in Vietnam. Will plays Call of Duty on his PS3 and drinks non-dairy hazelnut creamer. So what happened to all the real men? They're still here -- they just smell like pomegranate body wash now. Meet Will (Mather Zickel). His evolved, sensitive nature is why his awesome wife, Theresa (Teri Polo), married him. But Will and his friends find themselves wondering -- in a world of Axe ads and manscaping -- what does it really mean to be a guy anymore? Will is more interested in finding the perfect gift for his son Nathan's (Jake Johnson) 13th birthday than in doing his job selling insurance; sensitive soul Craig (Christopher Moynihan) still pines for his college ex, Lisa; and Kenny (Dan Fogler) clamps down on his anger and asks himself, "What would Tobey Maguire do?," when his ex, Brenda (Amanda Detmer), starts seeing a guy (Henry Simmons) who is everything he's not and much better looking. After Craig crashes Lisa's wedding to try to win her back, they are all faced with an opportunity to Man Up and be like their forefathers. The show stars Christopher Moynihan as Craig, Mather Zickel ("The Cape") as Will, Dan Fogler ("Balls of Fury") as Kenny, Teri Polo ("Meet the Fockers") as Theresa, Amanda Detmer ("What About Brian") as Brenda and Henry Simmons ("Shark") as Grant.
I saw this one last year when it was called Traffic Light, the fans didn't like it then and I don't see them liking this one either. Another pass for me.
New Girl: 9:00 - FOX
NEW GIRL is a new single-camera comedy from Liz Meriwether that features a young ensemble cast and takes a fresh and outrageous look at modern male/female relationships. JESS DAY (Zooey Deschanel, "(500) Days of Summer") is an offbeat and adorable girl in her late 20s who, after a bad breakup, moves in with three single guys. Goofy, positive, vulnerable and honest to a fault, Jess has faith in people, even when she shouldn't. Although she's dorky and awkward, she's comfortable in her own skin. More prone to friendships with women, she's not used to hanging with the boys - especially at home. Of the three male roommates, NICK (Jake Johnson, "No Strings Attached") is the most grounded. He had big plans for life, but somewhere along the way, he stopped caring and became a bartender. Usually the smartest guy in the room, he has an uncanny knack for reading people and uses humor to deflect everyone and everything. SCHMIDT (Max Greenfield, "Ugly Betty") is a hustling young professional who fancies himself a modern-day Casanova. Though his heart is usually in the right place, he's always scheming ways to climb the social ladder and is driven by an immature and almost obsessive urge to be on "the scene." Viewing Jess as a gateway into the elusive female mind, as well as a personal project, Schmidt encourages the guys to bring Jess into the apartment. The third roommate, COACH (Damon Wayans Jr., "The Underground"), is a former high school athlete who currently makes his living as a personal trainer. Set in his ways and with a take-it-or-leave-it attitude to dating, Coach is most comfortable when he's in the gym. Though he'll never admit it, Coach's macho athletic exterior is actually a cover for his shyness around women, and he struggles to translate his personal confidence into conversation, preferring to speak in sports metaphors - or not at all. Rounding out this group is Jess' childhood best friend, CECE (Hannah Simone, "Beautiful People"), a deadpan, somewhat cynical model who blossomed after outgrowing her promiscuous adolescent years. She has the street smarts Jess lacks and spends a lot of time doling out no-nonsense relationship advice that only a professional model could give. She and Jess balance each other well and accept each other despite their faults, making Cece the perfect complement to Jess. As their relationships progress, the five friends come to realize they need each other more than they ever thought they would and end up forming a charmingly dysfunctional family.
I gotta admit, this looks kinda funny and somewhat cute. Fox already has a hit with the other Deschahnel sister in Bones. They must be hoping for another hit. Don't worry Happy Endings fans, Lamonrne Morries has been brought in to replace Damon Wayans Jr. For some reason I just don't see this making it until the end of the season. 9:00 on Tuesdays seems to be filling up quite quickly with Dancing With The "Stars", NCIS: LA and The CW's The Ringer. I'll PVR this one, but I'm not going to grow too attached, I'm actually surprised that they didn't switch this and Raising Hope's order.
The Ringer: 9:00 - The CW
Sarah Michelle Gellar stars as a woman who, after witnessing a murder, goes on the run, hiding out by assuming the life of her wealthy identical twin sister - only to learn that her sister's seemingly idyllic life is just as complicated and dangerous as the one she's trying to leave behind. Bridget is six months sober and starting to turn her life around when she is the sole witness to a professional hit. Despite the assurances of her FBI protector, Agent Victor Machado, Bridget knows her life is on the line. She flees to New York, telling no one, not even her Narcotics Anonymous sponsor, Malcolm. In New York, Bridget reunites with her estranged twin, Siobhan. Wealthy, pampered and married to the strikingly handsome Andrew Martin, Siobhan lives what appears to be a fairy tale life - a life where no one knows that Bridget exists. The sisters seem to be mending their frayed relationship, until Siobhan disappears mysteriously, and Bridget makes the split decision to take on her sister's identity. She discovers shocking secrets, not only about her sister and her marriage, but also about Siobhan's best friend, Gemma, and Gemma's husband, Henry. And when someone tries to kill Bridget in her sister's penthouse, she realizes she is no safer as Siobhan than she is as herself. The series stars Sarah Michelle Gellar as Bridget and Siobhan, Kristoffer Polaha as Henry, Ioan Gruffudd as Andrew Martin, Nestor Carbonell as Agent Victor Machado and Tara Summers as Gemma.
I've watched the promo several times and I really still don't get this one. Never watched Buffy so I can't say that I'm drawn in by Gellar. The fact that it's on The CW somewhat worries me, I'm just not sure it'll get dark enough. I'll check out the pilot and go from there. But I'm certainly interested in the mystery of it all. The CW "usually" gives their shows a full season to mature and the fact that it has Gellar in it, I'm sure it will get a full season, at least.
Unforgettable: 10:00 - CBS
Poppy Montgomery stars as Carrie Wells, an enigmatic former police detective with a rare condition that makes her memory so flawless that every place, every conversation, every moment of joy and every heartbreak is forever embedded in her mind. It's not just that she doesn't forget anything - she can't; except for one thing: the details that would help solve her sister's long-ago murder. Carrie has tried to put her past behind her, but she's unexpectedly reunited with her ex-boyfriend and partner, NYPD Detective Al Burns (Dylan Walsh), when she consults on a homicide case. His squad includes Det. Mike Costello (Michael Gaston), Al's right-hand man; Detective Roe Saunders (Kevin Rankin), the junior member of the team; and Detective Nina Inara (Daya Vaidya), a sassy, street-smart cop. Being back on the job after a break feels surprisingly right for Carrie. Despite her conflicted feelings for Al, she decides to permanently join his unit as a detective solving homicides - most notably, the unsolved murder of her sister. All she needs to do is remember.
Criminal Minds fans will be happy that Montgomery is back on television, I've watched the promo's and I've done some reading. I just don't get how remembering everything will help you solve a murder? If you weren't there, what's too remember? I'm just not sure I need another police procedural in my life. The whole thing with the ex-boyfriend is the cop that she ends up working with is a bit too much for me. This might end up being quite good for some, but I'm giving this one a pass.

NCIS: 8:00 - CBS
Where we left off:
Having learned the identity of the Port-to-Port killer after the death of Mike Franks, Gibbs and his team prepare for the worst when he makes his final strike close to the heart of NCIS, leading Ziva into a trap. When Ziva is found by McGee, DiNozzo, Gibbs and Ray Cruz, she reveals that it was misdirection while the killer, Lt. Jonas Cobb, infiltrates NCIS to target the people he holds responsible for turning him into a killer as a part of "Operation Frankenstein": Leon Vance, Trent Kort and the Secretary of the Navy. Everything he has done since killing his first victim in Spain has been with the sole intention of finding them - but knowing that the Secretary of the Navy is under twenty-four hour protection, Cobb changes tactics and instead targets E.J. Barrett who is not only the person who has been investigating him from the beginning of his killing spree, but is also the Secretary of the Navy's niece. The NCIS team are able to track Cobb back to the facility where he was put through his training and is seen "training" Trent Kort, Jimmy Palmer and Barrett. He claims he only ever did what he thought was right, but refuses to surrender and is shot and killed by Gibbs and Vance. The Secretary of the Navy resigns over the affair, Trent Kort goes into hiding in Israel and Mike Franks is given a state funeral in a coffin built by Gibbs. The episode ends with DiNozzo being given a classified assignment to "handle" an unknown person and that an NCIS agent is suspected of selling classified information.
Glee: 8:00 - FOX

New Directions heads to New York City for the National Show Choir Championship and faces Vocal Adrenaline once again, taking time to see landmarks while there. Will prepares to head to Broadway with April while hiding it from the kids. Kurt helps Rachel to make a decision about her future with Finn.
90210: 8:00 - The CW
Where we left off:
As graduation looms, Naomi makes a decision that could prevent her from graduating with her class when she takes all the blame for cheating on her term paper to save Max from getting in trouble with her. Meanwhile, Liam tells Annie that he doesn't want to go to college with her, and Ryan asks Debbie to move to Paris with him to be close to Jen and their baby. Adrianna is shunned from the group when they accidentally find out her scheme to get revenge on Silver. The next day, an impromptu wedding takes place as Raj and Ivy get married in a traditional Indian cerimony. Among the group, only Ivy's mother, Laurel, disaproves of Ivy's sudden choice to get married for she is aware of Raj's failing health. At the end, Naomi visits Max at his house where she tells him that she is pregnant.
NCIS: LOS Angeles - 9:00 - CBS

Last Man Standing: 8:00 - ABC
Today it's a woman's world, and this man's man is on a mission to get men back to their rightful place in society. Tim Allen returns to ABC in this new comedy from Jack Burditt ("30 Rock"). Men may have built civilizations, invented the locomotive and created ESPN, but they're about to find out that it's not a man's world anymore. You can't get manlier than Mike Baxter. He's the marketing director for an iconic outdoor sporting goods store, he loves to have adventures while he's traveling for work and, of course, he drives a pick-up truck. While Mike is king of the hill at work, he's the odd man out in a home that is dominated by women -- namely his wife, Vanessa, and their three daughters, 22- year-old Kristin, 17-year-old Mandy and 14-year-old Eve. After being a stay-at-home mom for years, Vanessa recently returned to the workplace and was quickly promoted (much to the dismay of her primarily male co-workers). As a result of Vanessa's increased work load, Mike is pulled into more hands-on parenting than ever before. The show stars Tim Allen ("Home Improvement") as Mike, Nancy Travis ("So I Married an Axe Murderer," "Three Men and a Baby") as Vanessa.
You might as well just call this Home Improvement 2.0 as it appears to be that Tim Allen is still playing the toolman, sure that worked for many years. I was just hoping that he'd be bringing something else to the table here. The supporting cast looks pretty good, just not good enough to suck me in.
Man-Up: 8:30 - ABC
Three modern men try to get in touch with their inner tough guys and redefine what it means to be a "real man" in this funny and relatable comedy. Will's grandfather fought in WWII. Will's father fought in Vietnam. Will plays Call of Duty on his PS3 and drinks non-dairy hazelnut creamer. So what happened to all the real men? They're still here -- they just smell like pomegranate body wash now. Meet Will (Mather Zickel). His evolved, sensitive nature is why his awesome wife, Theresa (Teri Polo), married him. But Will and his friends find themselves wondering -- in a world of Axe ads and manscaping -- what does it really mean to be a guy anymore? Will is more interested in finding the perfect gift for his son Nathan's (Jake Johnson) 13th birthday than in doing his job selling insurance; sensitive soul Craig (Christopher Moynihan) still pines for his college ex, Lisa; and Kenny (Dan Fogler) clamps down on his anger and asks himself, "What would Tobey Maguire do?," when his ex, Brenda (Amanda Detmer), starts seeing a guy (Henry Simmons) who is everything he's not and much better looking. After Craig crashes Lisa's wedding to try to win her back, they are all faced with an opportunity to Man Up and be like their forefathers. The show stars Christopher Moynihan as Craig, Mather Zickel ("The Cape") as Will, Dan Fogler ("Balls of Fury") as Kenny, Teri Polo ("Meet the Fockers") as Theresa, Amanda Detmer ("What About Brian") as Brenda and Henry Simmons ("Shark") as Grant.
I saw this one last year when it was called Traffic Light, the fans didn't like it then and I don't see them liking this one either. Another pass for me.
New Girl: 9:00 - FOX
NEW GIRL is a new single-camera comedy from Liz Meriwether that features a young ensemble cast and takes a fresh and outrageous look at modern male/female relationships. JESS DAY (Zooey Deschanel, "(500) Days of Summer") is an offbeat and adorable girl in her late 20s who, after a bad breakup, moves in with three single guys. Goofy, positive, vulnerable and honest to a fault, Jess has faith in people, even when she shouldn't. Although she's dorky and awkward, she's comfortable in her own skin. More prone to friendships with women, she's not used to hanging with the boys - especially at home. Of the three male roommates, NICK (Jake Johnson, "No Strings Attached") is the most grounded. He had big plans for life, but somewhere along the way, he stopped caring and became a bartender. Usually the smartest guy in the room, he has an uncanny knack for reading people and uses humor to deflect everyone and everything. SCHMIDT (Max Greenfield, "Ugly Betty") is a hustling young professional who fancies himself a modern-day Casanova. Though his heart is usually in the right place, he's always scheming ways to climb the social ladder and is driven by an immature and almost obsessive urge to be on "the scene." Viewing Jess as a gateway into the elusive female mind, as well as a personal project, Schmidt encourages the guys to bring Jess into the apartment. The third roommate, COACH (Damon Wayans Jr., "The Underground"), is a former high school athlete who currently makes his living as a personal trainer. Set in his ways and with a take-it-or-leave-it attitude to dating, Coach is most comfortable when he's in the gym. Though he'll never admit it, Coach's macho athletic exterior is actually a cover for his shyness around women, and he struggles to translate his personal confidence into conversation, preferring to speak in sports metaphors - or not at all. Rounding out this group is Jess' childhood best friend, CECE (Hannah Simone, "Beautiful People"), a deadpan, somewhat cynical model who blossomed after outgrowing her promiscuous adolescent years. She has the street smarts Jess lacks and spends a lot of time doling out no-nonsense relationship advice that only a professional model could give. She and Jess balance each other well and accept each other despite their faults, making Cece the perfect complement to Jess. As their relationships progress, the five friends come to realize they need each other more than they ever thought they would and end up forming a charmingly dysfunctional family.
I gotta admit, this looks kinda funny and somewhat cute. Fox already has a hit with the other Deschahnel sister in Bones. They must be hoping for another hit. Don't worry Happy Endings fans, Lamonrne Morries has been brought in to replace Damon Wayans Jr. For some reason I just don't see this making it until the end of the season. 9:00 on Tuesdays seems to be filling up quite quickly with Dancing With The "Stars", NCIS: LA and The CW's The Ringer. I'll PVR this one, but I'm not going to grow too attached, I'm actually surprised that they didn't switch this and Raising Hope's order.
The Ringer: 9:00 - The CW
Sarah Michelle Gellar stars as a woman who, after witnessing a murder, goes on the run, hiding out by assuming the life of her wealthy identical twin sister - only to learn that her sister's seemingly idyllic life is just as complicated and dangerous as the one she's trying to leave behind. Bridget is six months sober and starting to turn her life around when she is the sole witness to a professional hit. Despite the assurances of her FBI protector, Agent Victor Machado, Bridget knows her life is on the line. She flees to New York, telling no one, not even her Narcotics Anonymous sponsor, Malcolm. In New York, Bridget reunites with her estranged twin, Siobhan. Wealthy, pampered and married to the strikingly handsome Andrew Martin, Siobhan lives what appears to be a fairy tale life - a life where no one knows that Bridget exists. The sisters seem to be mending their frayed relationship, until Siobhan disappears mysteriously, and Bridget makes the split decision to take on her sister's identity. She discovers shocking secrets, not only about her sister and her marriage, but also about Siobhan's best friend, Gemma, and Gemma's husband, Henry. And when someone tries to kill Bridget in her sister's penthouse, she realizes she is no safer as Siobhan than she is as herself. The series stars Sarah Michelle Gellar as Bridget and Siobhan, Kristoffer Polaha as Henry, Ioan Gruffudd as Andrew Martin, Nestor Carbonell as Agent Victor Machado and Tara Summers as Gemma.
I've watched the promo several times and I really still don't get this one. Never watched Buffy so I can't say that I'm drawn in by Gellar. The fact that it's on The CW somewhat worries me, I'm just not sure it'll get dark enough. I'll check out the pilot and go from there. But I'm certainly interested in the mystery of it all. The CW "usually" gives their shows a full season to mature and the fact that it has Gellar in it, I'm sure it will get a full season, at least.
Unforgettable: 10:00 - CBS
Poppy Montgomery stars as Carrie Wells, an enigmatic former police detective with a rare condition that makes her memory so flawless that every place, every conversation, every moment of joy and every heartbreak is forever embedded in her mind. It's not just that she doesn't forget anything - she can't; except for one thing: the details that would help solve her sister's long-ago murder. Carrie has tried to put her past behind her, but she's unexpectedly reunited with her ex-boyfriend and partner, NYPD Detective Al Burns (Dylan Walsh), when she consults on a homicide case. His squad includes Det. Mike Costello (Michael Gaston), Al's right-hand man; Detective Roe Saunders (Kevin Rankin), the junior member of the team; and Detective Nina Inara (Daya Vaidya), a sassy, street-smart cop. Being back on the job after a break feels surprisingly right for Carrie. Despite her conflicted feelings for Al, she decides to permanently join his unit as a detective solving homicides - most notably, the unsolved murder of her sister. All she needs to do is remember.
Criminal Minds fans will be happy that Montgomery is back on television, I've watched the promo's and I've done some reading. I just don't get how remembering everything will help you solve a murder? If you weren't there, what's too remember? I'm just not sure I need another police procedural in my life. The whole thing with the ex-boyfriend is the cop that she ends up working with is a bit too much for me. This might end up being quite good for some, but I'm giving this one a pass.

Where we left off:
Having learned the identity of the Port-to-Port killer after the death of Mike Franks, Gibbs and his team prepare for the worst when he makes his final strike close to the heart of NCIS, leading Ziva into a trap. When Ziva is found by McGee, DiNozzo, Gibbs and Ray Cruz, she reveals that it was misdirection while the killer, Lt. Jonas Cobb, infiltrates NCIS to target the people he holds responsible for turning him into a killer as a part of "Operation Frankenstein": Leon Vance, Trent Kort and the Secretary of the Navy. Everything he has done since killing his first victim in Spain has been with the sole intention of finding them - but knowing that the Secretary of the Navy is under twenty-four hour protection, Cobb changes tactics and instead targets E.J. Barrett who is not only the person who has been investigating him from the beginning of his killing spree, but is also the Secretary of the Navy's niece. The NCIS team are able to track Cobb back to the facility where he was put through his training and is seen "training" Trent Kort, Jimmy Palmer and Barrett. He claims he only ever did what he thought was right, but refuses to surrender and is shot and killed by Gibbs and Vance. The Secretary of the Navy resigns over the affair, Trent Kort goes into hiding in Israel and Mike Franks is given a state funeral in a coffin built by Gibbs. The episode ends with DiNozzo being given a classified assignment to "handle" an unknown person and that an NCIS agent is suspected of selling classified information.
Glee: 8:00 - FOX

New Directions heads to New York City for the National Show Choir Championship and faces Vocal Adrenaline once again, taking time to see landmarks while there. Will prepares to head to Broadway with April while hiding it from the kids. Kurt helps Rachel to make a decision about her future with Finn.
90210: 8:00 - The CW
Where we left off:
As graduation looms, Naomi makes a decision that could prevent her from graduating with her class when she takes all the blame for cheating on her term paper to save Max from getting in trouble with her. Meanwhile, Liam tells Annie that he doesn't want to go to college with her, and Ryan asks Debbie to move to Paris with him to be close to Jen and their baby. Adrianna is shunned from the group when they accidentally find out her scheme to get revenge on Silver. The next day, an impromptu wedding takes place as Raj and Ivy get married in a traditional Indian cerimony. Among the group, only Ivy's mother, Laurel, disaproves of Ivy's sudden choice to get married for she is aware of Raj's failing health. At the end, Naomi visits Max at his house where she tells him that she is pregnant.

Fall 2011 TV Season - Mondays
A few people have asked me, "Hey man, what's up with the new season? Anything worth watching?", "Hey man, what are your top picks for the new shows"
Well, here I sit on this somewhat grey and somewhat cloudy Sunday afternoon, with all sorts of papers scattered around my desk, a gazzilion tabs open on my browsers, note scribbled down. I don't actually get screeners as I just do this stuff for the fun of yet. I've just browsed all over the internet and watched every promo and clip I could get my hands on to base my opinions on.
So let's start with looking at Monday of which I might add, is crazy full already.
Terra Nova: 8:00 FOX
This year at Fan Expo Canada, I was lucky enough to watch the first hour of the two hour pilot. Turns out I was un-lucky because I hated this and I hated everything about it. I thought there was major plot holes and yet it was appearing to be VERY, VERY predictable. I've read that people think it should be on at 8 for some great family fair. But airing at 8:00 for families is another problem I have with it, airing at 10:00 would darken it up and make it a bit more realistic for me. I'm going to give this a pass. If what airs in September has been changed up from the original pilot. I might go back because I do like the premise of the show. I just don't like how it was executed.
2 Broke Girls: 8:30 CBS
First off, I love Kat Dennings, I think she's great in everything so this one caught my attention right away. The premise for these two girls meeting does seem a bit wonky, but they appear to have some really great chemistry together. I think this will flow nicely in CBS' Monday night comedy lineup. This also comes from the executive producer of Sex in the City, take that how-ever you like. But I think I'll be making room for this on my PVR.
Heart of Dixie: 9:00 The CW
I've watched the promo, read what I could and this one isn't for me. I'm sure Rachel Bilson will bring in some people who've missed her since the days of THE OC. But 9:00 on a Monday is crammed enough and my PVR will already be busy enough. I'm going to give this a pass as this looks incredibly predictable and doesn't appear to bring anything new to the table.
The Playboy Club: 10:00 NBC
Mad Men has certainly inspired the big networks to take a look at shows inspired by that era this season that is for sure. I'm just not sure if it's going to pay off. I've watched a few promos over and over and I can't seem to get too excited about this one for some reason. I just don't see where the story is going to go to keep people interested week to week. It doesn't help that 10:00 PM on Mondays is already jammed with Castle and Hawaii Five-0. I'll watch the first episode and go from there.

Dancing With the Stars:
Back for another season and it appears that they've run out of "stars" because this cast is even more awful than most years. David Arquette, Ron Artest, Chaz Bonon, Elisabetta Canalis, Kristin Cavallari, Rob Kardashian, Carson Kressley, Nancy Grace, Ricki Lake, JR Martinez, Chynna Phillips, Hope Solo.
How I Met your Mother:
In the aftermath of Ted and Zoey's break-up, Ted is having second thoughts. He is freaking out about an issue with the GNB headquarters, and historically when Ted freaks out about something, he turns to dating an old girlfriend if only for something comfortable and familiar, however bad returning to that relationship ended up being. When Barney and Robin find out that Ted is going to meet Zoey to get back together with her, they have to try and figure out where that meeting place is so that they can stop him. Beyond piecing together this puzzle, Barney and Robin's quest leads to them discussing their own relationship. Meanwhile, Lily has come down with a case of food poisoning from some soup. Marshall eats the soup three hours later, which means that his symptoms of excessive vomiting will start three hours later than Lily's did. Marshall has a job interview with a major environmental law firm in a few hours, and he is just hoping that he can make it through the interview without vomiting. Ted and Barney argue about which of them will have the pleasure of pushing the button when the Arcadian gets imploded. And one of these situation is the starting point for an imminent trip to the altar.
Gossip Girl:
Season four wraps up with an explosive finale, including the return of Georgina Sparks and Constance Billard mean girls Kati and Is, a cameo by "Gossip Girl" author Cecily von Ziegesar, a performance by Airborne Toxic Event and, oh yeah, a few very juicy cliffhangers.
Two and a Half Men:
This has to be the most talked about show during the offseason. Rose becomes wise to Alan's Ponzi scheme and threatens to tell his family--until Alan discovers the truth about Rose's "husband." Here's how this season starts: After the death of Charlie Harper, an Internet Billionaire purchases Charlie's beach house. How does Charlie die? Let's just say Rose might have had something to do with it.
Castle:
One of my favorite finales from last year. An assassin, with knowledge of the details behind Beckett's mother's murder, escapes from custody during his trial leaving Castle and Beckett to track him down. A secret is revealed about Captain Montgomery's past and the identity of the third cop. At the end of the episode Beckett is shot and Castle tells her that he loves her.
Hawaii Five-0:
I dropped this show half way through the season, but I did catch the finale and it was a doozy. As McGarrett and his team close in, criminal mastermind Wo Fat retaliates against Five-0. And without the Governor backing them up, McGarrett's showdown with Wo Fat could mean the end of Five-0.

Thoughts from the Media Room: Easy one here for me. Big Bang brings it most weeks and has me laughing the hardest, without question. Glee, yikes I thought this season was highly inconsistent and missed a few weeks because I just couldn't take it. Modern Family I thought was very un-even and nowhere near as good as the first season. THe Office, I stopped enjoying you a few years back. Parks and Recreation has been quite good as well, just not as consistent as Big Bang for me. 30 Rock? I'm done with you as well. Sorry. You lost me last season.

Thoughts from the Media Room: This was a tough one for me, I haven't watched any of them. I've heard great things about most of them. But i've heard the most about Pierce and it was on HBO so it has that going for it as well.
