Last Night in the Media Room
A late night of work put us a bit behind last night, plus I had to be at work for 4:30 this morning. So I only got to watch two things last night before it was bedtime :( The servers have been updated and the software is installing. So let's see what I did make room for last night.
Let's start the night off with Sundays episode of Pan Am. I really enjoyed the pilot for this and can't say I was overly impressed with the second episode. Let's see how this goes. The more I watch this show, the more I think I find the scenes on the plane more interesting than the scenes that aren't on the plane. That isn't right and I don't think that's what the writers are going for. This week we're in Berlin for Kennedy's speech and I just don't find that interesting. The story with Kate as the spy is really starting to bore me as she isn't a very good spy. I don't find her bumbling through her "missions" all that exciting. I don't feel any tension one way or another. HA! Kate was just called out for not being a good liar, I'm sorry german spy woman, she's not good at just lying. What does continue to amaze me about the show was just how grand flying on a plane was in this era and how the stewardesses were treated like such rock stars. "We'll get in, we're stewardesses!" The story-line with Colette (Who is Canadian btw) was a nice piece of realism, it showed us what times were really like back then and the things that some people had to deal with. It's been twenty years after the war and people are still struggling with things. Made me think about how long the effects of the world we're living in right now are going to be felt. It also showed us that there is some depth to these characters unlike Maggie's almost boy band like crush on the President. This weeks President story-line felt like a bad episode of a Pink Panther movie.
Next up we've got Survivor and we start off with the Redemption island duel. These two are the most bitter players I've ever seen play the game. See ya later Stacey, you won't be missed by many. We get quite a long fishing display by Survivor Superstar Ozzy. It was quite impressive to say the least, but nothing we haven't seen before. Hmmm, are Ozzy's followers getting restless? Then before I know it, it's time for the most disgusting Survivor Challenge EVER. A very large piece of pig has been cooked on a spit and each tribe has to pull and bite large pieces and literally spit the pieces into a large bucket. Whichever tribe pulls off the most meat wins the luxury and immunity challenge. Oh Cochrane. Fight Nerd Brother Fight! I like so many just love the look when someone who wasn't expecting to go home gets that first vote, like this couldn't possibly be happening to me. Then they just figure it's the person going home that voted for them. But then when they get the second vote, they raise that eyebrow like the Rock so famously did back in the early 2000's. You can literally see the wheels turning in their head. They look at their tribe mates, none of them can look them in the eye. Then, boom, the penny drops and they realize that they're about to get blind-sided. That folks, makes for some great television right there.
How was your night? What did you watch last night?
