A look into February's Television

The month starts a new tomorrow. So it's a good timeto take a look at what's coming up, new shows, season premieres and finales. Of course there are a few time-slot changes to look at as well.

February 1st:
Fabulous Cakes returns from it's hiatus with a new episode titled, Carolinas: Southern Stars, it's set to air 10:00 on TLC.

Fox will also be airing the first season finale of Million Dollar Money Drop, somehow it's only the series' tenth episode, seems like it's on everynight to me.

February 3th:
Bravo is back with what will be their fourth season of Million Dollar Listing. Have you ever watched this? I don't know how this thing is in it's fourth season. I also don't know who would be dumb enough to buy such an expensive home from these kids. Wow.

In looking up the promo, I see that they've dropped the emo kids they've had in the past. That being said, it doesn't look any better. Looks like Bravo Canada will be airing this at a different date.

February 4th:
NBC kicks of this Friday night with a new season of Who Do You Think You Are? Vanessa Williams is one of the celebrities profiled in this episode. Can't remember what this is or don't know what this is? It's the show where celebrities go searching their family trees and family histories to find out new things about their history.

CBS is airing the Superbowl's greatest commercials, great for Canadian viewers who never actually see these great commercials during the Super Bowl.

There is a Barbara Walters Special that night titled, A Barbara Walters Special: A Matter of Life and Death. Here's the description.  What do Barbara Walters, President Bill Clinton, David Letterman, Regis Philbin, Robin Williams and Charlie Rose all have in common? They all went from being in the spotlight to being in the operating room for life-and-death open heart surgery. Now in a groundbreaking report, the "brotherhood of the cracked chest club" (as Robin Williams describes them) all open their hearts to Walters and reveal their emotional stories of how they triumphed over heart disease. Each account is an intimate portrait of these most public figures, infused with laughter and tears. Walters also takes viewers on an unprecedented behind-the-scenes journey of her own battle from discovery of a faulty heart valve to the operating table and recovery. In addition, she talks to doctors, including her own, about what viewers, especially women, need to know to save themselves and their loved ones.

February 6th:

Super Bowl Time! Hopefully the great trailers that are expected that night hit the internet quickly after. Can't wait to see Captain America, Thor and Transformers 3 trailers.

Right after the Super Bowl Fox will be airing a special episode of Glee titled, Thriller. Here's a couple preview pictures.

February 7th:

The Chicago Code will premiere at 9:00 on Fox this Monday, taking over for Lie to Me. Here's the promo.

Stars: Jennifer Beals, Jason Clarke and Don Kress.

HBO will also be airing a special titled, Reagan, for those that like that kinda thing.

MTV is starting up the second season of My Life as Liz at 11:00. Here is the promo for that one.

February 9th:

See Paula in all her glory for the finale of Live to Dance. Season 2? I don't think so.

ABC will be piloting Mr. Sunshine. Matthew Perry's new series. He'll star as Ben Donovan, the self-involved manager of a second-rate San Diego sports arena who begins to re-evaluate his life on his 40th birthday.

Stars: Matthew Perry, Allison Janney and James Lesure.

It's sad, the girls of Friends have done, ok since the show ended. Well, two of them anyways. The guys, not so well.

The 9th will be an important date for many just because Justified is starting back up.

Here's the promo for the second season.

Everyone that has asked me about this show and I've told them to watch it, has LOVED it. Check out season 1 on DVD if you get a chance.

Storage Wars will be wrapping it's first season up on A&E at 10 on the 9th as well.

February 13th:

TLC has a special planned called The Queen.

The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards are taking place over at CBS that night.

In quickly trying to find out some more information about The Queen special it would appear that there are a lot of great movies on that night if you can't find anything else to watch.

February 14th:

The only new thing starting on that Monday is a show called Mad Love. Revolves around a quartet of single friends in New York City-- two who are falling in love and two who despise each other, at least initially. Just found a much better description for it. MAD LOVE is a comedy about a quartet of New Yorkers-two who are falling in love and another two who despise each other (at least for now). Ben, a lawyer, is a hopeless romantic trying to build a relationship with Kate, a beautiful, smart girl whom Ben thinks is the woman of his dreams. Larry, Ben's unrefined best friend and co- worker, is a guy who doesn't believe in love and has a long track record as the third wheel. Kate's roommate, Connie, works as a nanny
and finds Larry aggravating or does she? Larry and Connie have a lot in common, but refuse to let their guard down long enough to see it.

Stars: Jason Biggs, Sarah Chalke and Judy Greer. Hmmm, I can't seem to get a preview out of Youtube. I did come across one on another site, but the quality is awful. Here's a picture of the cast though.

February 16th:

This is going to be a great night. American Idol Hollywood Week starts up with a two hour episode.

Then we've got a season premiere and a series premiere to check out.

First off we've got the 22nd Season Premiere of Survivor: Redemtion Island. 18 castaways will compete against each other on SURVIVOR: REDEMPTION ISLAND, when the Emmy Award-winning series returns for its 22nd season. Two of the 18 castaways are former castaways who will return to seek redemption. This edition of SURVIVOR will feature a new twist when, for the first time, castaways who have been eliminated from the game will have an opportunity to seek redemption and return for a chance to win the million dollar prize. Each week at Tribal Council when a castaway is voted off, they will be sent to an isolated island called "Redemption Island," where they will live alone in exile. To stay on Redemption Island, they will need to compete in a duel against the next person eliminated at Tribal Council and sent to the Island. The winner of each duel earns the right to continue fighting for an opportunity to return to the game and the chance to compete for the title of Sole Survivor; the loser is sent home. The battle unfolds in Nicaragua where the 18 castaways will be divided into two Tribes of nine: the Ometepe Tribe and the Zapatera Tribe. The tribes are comprised of individuals from all different backgrounds with the same ultimate goal: to be the Sole Survivor. While 16 of the contestants are new to the competition, two are former castaways who will be given another chance to compete for the million dollar prize and one last shot at redemption.

Then we've got the start of the Criminal Minds spin-off. CRIMINAL MINDS: SUSPECT BEHAVIOR is a drama about an elite team of agents within the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) who use unconventional methods of investigation and aggressive tactics to capture the nation's most nefarious criminals. Unit chief Special Agent Sam Cooper is a mentally and physically fierce natural leader who is not afraid to put his career on the line in order to stand by his convictions. Cooper strives to avoid political bureaucracy and has handpicked an eclectic group of profilers to work outside the confines of Quantico. They include strong-willed and outspoken Beth Griffith, the newest member of the team who joins them from the FBI Threat Assessment Task Force; former British Special Forces soldier Mick Rawson, who is confident and handsome and works as a highly skilled marksman with an undiluted eye for rooting out evil;John "Prophet" Sims, a former convict with a street-smart edge and a calm, Zen-like presence who is determined to make amends for past sins; Gina LaSalle, an attractive, tough agent armed with a cunning sense of perception; and Penelope Garcia, a computer wizard who has spent years aiding Agent Hotchner and his BAU team on its toughest cases. This exceptional group of FBI operatives is strong in their beliefs and steadfast in their mission to bring the country's most dangerous criminals to justice.

With the later 10:00 start time, I have to wonder if it'll be a bit darky and grittier than the original series which airs at 9:00.

February 17th:

This my friends is a day I've been marking on my calendar for a long, long time. It's the day of the season finale, of which I hope will be a series finale of bleep my dad says.

February 18th:

The only real thing you should know about the 18th is this, Blue Bloods is scheduled to make it's big return to Fridays this day. BOOOO.

February 20th:

Another great night of Reality Premiere Greatness with Amazing Race Starting it's 18th Season.

Also that night, we're getting a glimpse in two the backstage of SNL with a two hour special.

This night is also giving us with what I would imagine to be the series finale of Episodes after just seven episodes.

February 23th:

The CW is bringing a reality series called Shedding the Wedding.

February 24th:

Rules of Engagement gets moved back to it's Monday at 8:30 slot.

Royal Pains finishes up it's second season.

February 25th:

Spartacus:Gods of the Arena finishes up its first season after 6 episodes. It will finish in Canada on the Sunday.

February 27th:

The Super Bowl of Film Lovers everywhere. The 83rd Annual Academy Awards starting at 7:00 with the red carpet. The ceremony will actually start at 8:30 at the Kodak Theatre which is hosted by James Franco and Anne Hathaway.

February 28th:

The Event makes it's big spring debut. Do you remember this show? I know I can't remember how it ended, in fact, I'm not really sure I actually saw the last couple of episodes. I just grew so frustrated with it. Some serious flashbacks of Flashforward.

Well, there you have the month of February and the television it has to offer. What do you think of what's coming up?

A preview of this week's television

It's Sunday, so it's time to take a look at the week ahead in tv. But first, I wanted to look at a couple news items.

So NBC has a new person in charge over there as part of the Comcast deal. Robert Greenblatt is now in charge of primetime programming. One of the first moves he's made is to actually make the Wonder Woman pilot that NBC recently turned down due to mostly costs to get the thing off the ground. The pilot is being put together by David E. Kelley who's currently working on Harry's Law also on NBC.

Don't know if you watch Archer, but it's a dark twisted spy cartoon that air's on FX. Here's the poster for Season 2. The tagline says it all, "The Spy Who loved Himself"

Fans were worried when the news came out that Fringe was getting bumped to the deadly Friday time-slot. Well, fans should be celebrating as the ratings for the first friday where up from it's last Thursday show. On another note, holy crap Christopher Lloyd is looking old.

Here's the first full look at the new Spidey suit with web-shooters.

Alrighty, let's get into the week.

Sunday

It looks like Football is dominating the schedule tonight, well, that an cartoons. Football will pull around 30 million viewers so some regular programming has been pulled from tonight's schedule. But CBS is aiming to carry those viewers into a special night of Hawaii Five-0.

Don't feel like watching Football or regular tv? There are a tonne of movies on today, Wargames, Neverending Story, The Mighty Ducks, The Lake House, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Stepmom, The Bridges of Madison County, Sex and The City, Clueless, Casino, Glory Road, Failure to Launch, Steel Magnolias, Charlie's Angels, Patch Adams just to name quite a few options for you to watch.

If trashy "reality" programming is your thing, E! is bringing the premiere of Kourtney & Kim take New York. I'm sure that'll be thrilling.

Fox will be rocking their entire Sunday night cartoon lineup if that's your thing.

Monday

What the hell is CBS doing? Two weeks ago we didn't get the comedy lineup, last week we did what we craved. This week? Nope. Nothing new from CBS Monday night! GRRRRR!! You're killing me CBS.

The highlight of the night for me will be this week's castle. The episode should really be titled "The Kiss" because that's what is getting hyped, so of course it'll be nothing. But over thetvaddict.com he's got 5 great reasons why Monday's episode of Castle will be great.

Another high note for me is a classic Rob Lowe film is on CHCH. Youngblood. An upstate New York farm boy grows up the hard way after going to Canada to play semipro hockey. Stars, Rob Lowe, Cynthia Gibb, Patrick Swayze. See, I told ya, awesome!

Are people still watching The Cape?

Monday night's at 10 are suddenly very full, Hawaii Five-0, Castle and the new Harry's Law.

Tuesday

Hmmm, the guy in charge in the States is at it again. He messed up the schedule for us tv fans a couple weeks ago and Tuesday night he's addressing his people with The State of The Union so that's creating chaos all over the place on Tuesday.

The basic rundown is this, new Biggest Loser, Flashpoint and Rick Mercer annnnd that's it. Oh, sorry, there is also a new What Not to Wear. In Canada we'll also get a new episode of Hellcats on the new VR.

Sure they'll be a bunch of repeats on around the speech to catch you up on stuff you might have missed.

Movies? Sure. Casino Royale, great flick. Little Giants and a couple movies that seems to be made for tv.

Looks like Tuesday will be a catchup and clear the pvr night. Helpful, but still annoying.

Wednesday

Wow, what is with the schedule this week? It's outta wack and I don't like it. CBS has it regular line up on with no problem. ABC is still recovering from the Presidents speech a few weeks ago. No new comedies until 9:30 when they air the Cougar Town that really should have been on last week. But because of the speech running late, Cougar Town is behind an episode and they're making it up tonight. So next week hopefully the schedule there returns to normal. NBC is two thirds normal, with no new Law & Order on at 10:00.

But Idol is on as normal, I was amazed just how quickly and easily I was right back in there. Simon who?

There isn't really any movies on Wednesday either, that's two days of catchup and clean up, that's if there is anything to watch on the pvr at this point. *sigh*

Thursday

OH WTF! No Big Bang Theory this week? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE. That's two out of the last three weeks no new episode? It's one of their biggest shows and yet somehow we're getting a new shit my dad says? Just air these to get rid of them and never bring it back. Please. Thank god NBC is rocking the entire three hour comedy block.

Speaking of that block, we watched Perfect Couples last week, mostly because it was supposed to be about games night. In this house we love Games Night. So anyways, it was a muuuuch better episode than the horrible preview episode last month. Much better chemistry then the preview, worst thing about the show. Olivia Munn, she's a horrible actress. Sorry fellow nerds.

It would appear that only NBC is the ones airing anything new after 8:30. Nothing new at 9 and 10. Sigh.

Movies? Not really. Cries in the Dark and Sugar &; Spice. No thanks.

Friday

Friday's are looking real bare, Smallville and Supernatural are back so fans will be happy about that. Fringe is new at 9. Wow, when did Fridays get so nerdy? There is nothing else I really can say about Fridays.

A look at the week - TV Edition

What a week it's going to be, some seriously large shows start in the next week. By the end of the week, most of our regular programming will have returned. The only things we'll be missing is the lineup from The CW and the start of the second season of Archer. I hope your PVR's are clear by Sunday night, it's going to be a hectic week.

Sunday

A huge night for Media Fans all around, The Golden Globes really kick off the award season. This is one of the best award shows to watch since the winners by the half way point start getting drunk. The speeches really do get better from that point on.

We've got some serious football games all weekend long. It's amazing how much better playoff sports is than the regular season.

The Sunday Night Cartoon lineup on Fox gets a bit of a shuffle as American Dad gets moved to 7:30, followed by: The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, Family Guy and The Cleveland Show.

We've also got the start of the final season of Big Love, I know a bunch of people that are going to be very excited about this one. They've been waiting for months after what I hear was a great season finale.

CSI: Miami also gets a new timeslot by moving to 10:00.

At that point it's business as usual.

Plus we've got some movies if none of that tickes your viewing funny bone: Keep Your Head Up Kid: The Don Cherry Story, Overboard, Space Cowboys, Down To Earth, The Golden Compass. One of my favorites from 2007 is on Bravo Canada, Gone Baby Gone. If you haven't watched this and you've got an open slot on your PVR, I highly recommend recording it. There is also Master and Commander, The Wedding Planner and another classic The Natural.

Monday

Monday is looking like a great night that will be very jammed for some.

The CBS Comedy lineup is back together thankfully.

Chuck and House make their Winter/Spring returns.

The Cape moves into it's real time slot at 9:00.

Those silly kids from Jersey are on a special night and time for some reason.

Heavy premieres on A & E and Skins premieres on MTV, I read on a website that Skins could be "the most dangerous show on television".

Being Human premieres on SyFy and I really hope Space picks this up in Canada. It's getting a lot of good buzz.

A show I've been looking forward to from what I've seen in the promo's and it looks quirky. Harry's Law on NBC starts at 10.

If that plus all your regular programming isn't enough for you, we've got a great night of movies that night. Robocop, is it me or does SunTv air Robocop like once a week? That's not a bad thing, I'm just curious. Love the original. Get Carter is on as well, I can't belive that movie came out in 2000. Doesn't seem that long ago. Wow. Ohhh, a great film is airing on Spike Monday night, A Bronx Tale. Classic. Then they follow that up with Goodfellas. Mondays are a night I'm glad we've got another coast to record from because it can get quite hectic. Oh come on, no new Castle on Monday. They release a great picture last night and then don't follow it up with an episode. BOO ABC BOO!!

Tuesday

The CW closes out Life Unexpected with it's series finale.

White Collar gets it's Winter/Spring going returning from a long break continuing along with Season 2.

CNBC continues their great run with Coca-Cola: The Real Story Behind The Real Thing.

Other than no Glee and no One Tree Hill, Hellcats. It's business as usual.

Movies: Robocop 2, I see what SunTv is doing here. I wonder if 3 is on Wednesday? And CHCH is airing Rocky.

Wednesday

A huge night for Fox, American Idol returns with its much talked about new lineup. Will people watch without Simon? Of course they will. They'll be curious. Plus it's the first episode so you know the good folks at Fox will show us all the special singers America has to offer.  From reading twitter and other blogs who have watched the preview given to them, it's actually quite good.

Chase moves into a new timeslot at 9 for NBC.

Blue Bloods also moves into it's new timeslot at 10:00 for CBS.

Hot in Cleveland and Retired at 35 premiere over at Tvland.

Movies: CHCH and Suntv continue the movies along with Rocky II and Robocop 3.

Thursday

WOOHOO! I've been waiting a while for the premiere of NBC's 3 hour comedy block to see how it'll do. The new lineup will be: Community, Perfect Couples, The Office, Parks and Recreation!!, 30 Rock and ended with Outsourced. I hated the special preview we got of Perfect Couples last month, but this is the episode I saw the promo for where the couples plan a games night and that's right up my alley.

Big Bang returns after a week off and from what I've read it's going to be a great episode. I'm just not sure when Sheldon started driving. I last remember him learning to get his permit.

Bones returns after it's Christmas break to follow American Idol.

Royal Pains and Fairly Legal start up on USA Network.

For the second time this week there is another new episode of Jersey Shore titled Free Snookie. LOL! I may laugh at the title, but I"m still not watching it.

Movies: A few good ones if I say so, Of Mice and Men, The Replacements, Shaun of the Dead.

Friday

We've got the series finale of Medium from CBS at 8, I'm kind of surprised that this one isn't a two hour affair. I'm thinking CBS just cut this so I'm not sure what kind of ending we're going to get.

Fox comes back in a big way with Kitchen Nightmares and the highly anticpated return of Fringe.

Spartacus: Gods of the Arena starts up on Starz, Canadians don't worry. It comes to TMN Sunday the 23rd.

Movies: Two Weeks Notice, Saving Silverman, American Wedding, It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, Out of Sight and Bad Boys. For families there is also Camp Rock 2.

Saturday

Mostly it's repeats on Saturday night except for Cops and America's most wanted.

Then there is movies and lots of them. Throw Momma From the Train, Blades of Glory, The Cutting Edge. What are the chances there are two figure skating movies on in one night? Seriously? American Wedding, Righteous Kill, Two Weeks Notice, The Lake House, Wanted, Liar Liar, The Lost Word: Jurassic Park, Cats & Dogs, The Perfect Storm, Traitor, Batman & Robin, Air Force One and 300. Like I said, just a few to choose from.

So that's a quick look at the week ahead in tv and like I said, it'll be a great week for TV Fans.

The week after brings the return of 90210, Gossip Girl, Hellcats, One Tree Hill, The Vampire Diaries, Nikita, Archer, Smallville and Supernatural.

A Look Ahead - January - Movie Edition

Here's the run down of what's hitting the theatres this month.  It's a slow month, but that's ok.  It gives us more time to watch all the award nominated movies so you can play in your office pools for The Oscars.  Not everyone does that?  Just me?

Enjoy!

January 7th 2011

Season of the Witch

Thoughts from the Media Room:  Do you remember when Nic Cage actually made good movies?  This is a pass for me.

January 14th 2011

The Green Hornet

Thoughts from the Media Room:  I love Seth Rogan but that doesn't me I want to see Seth Rogan in this type of movie.  This is a rental for me.

The Dilemma

Thoughts from the Media Room:  Vince Vaughn with a great cast, directed by Ron Howard and produced Brian Grazer.  I'm all over this one, the theatre for sure.

Ong Bak 3

Thoughts from the Media Room:  They're still making these movies? Pass, maybe a rental if you saw Ong Bak 2 and want to know how the trilogy ends?

January 21st 2011

The Company Men

Thoughts from the Media Room:  Wow, Ben Affleck is on a bit of a roll.  It's got Affleck and Costner in it, so Mrs. Media Room will want to be there the first night.

No Strings Attached

Thoughts from the Media Room:  Oh, Natalie you give one of the best performances of the year in Black Swan in December and you follow it up with this.  This might be a rental for a girls night, but I don't think I can say catch this in the theatre.

January 28th 2011

The Mechanic

Thoughts from the Media Room:  Oh Jason Satham, please go back to England and make superior films.  A rental at best for me.

The Rite

Thoughts from the Media Room:  A religious thriller starring Hopkins, I would love to watch this but I can't justify the twelve dollars to see it.  A rental for me.

And that's all we got, a slow month for sure.

What will you be watching, renting or passing on?

Between a pair of former university friends looking for their next great adventure, an ex-nightclub promoter eager to transfer his skills into the restaurant business, and an owner who has hired a strict vegetarian as his head chef, David has a difficult task on his hands. The Biggest Loser: Couples 4 - 11th Season Premiere - NBC
Show Summary:
A fourth couples edition, to premiere January 4, marks the fourth year of a winter-spring season. The new team color to be added this season is light blue, replacing the white team. Season eleven will also feature major set changes including the scale, and changes to the trainers of the show. Two mystery trainers will be added as an alternative to the existing Bob/Jillian duo in the season's twist. The cast includes a man who is 507 pounds, second to only season 9's Michael.

*For the record season 10 finished less than 3 weeks ago?

The Press Release:
NBC's popular series "The Biggest Loser" launches season eleven on Tuesday, January 4 (8-10 p.m. ET). But this time, there will be two new trainers and an engaging new twist that will change the game completely for the eleven teams of two coming to the "Biggest Loser" ranch hoping to transform their bodies, their health and their lives. In the premiere, the contestants will compete in a challenge and then get to make a game-changing decision in the order in which they finished. Host Alison Sweeney will offer the eleven family and friend teams of two the unprecedented opportunity to choose whether to work out with trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels at the ranch - or work out at a secret location with two unknown trainers, whose identities will initially remain a mystery. If the contestants choose the new trainers, whom they know nothing about, they'll receive four weeks of immunity. If they choose to stay at the ranch and be trained by Bob and Jillian, they're at risk of going home after just one week. What ensues is a riveting ride of intense emotions, surprising turns and "can't miss" moments as the two groups fight their weight loss battles separately with two sets of trainers equally committed to giving these players a new lease on a healthier life.

Live To Dance - Two Hour Series Premiere - CBS
Show Summary:
It will be headlined by dance, choreographer, pop star and previous American Idol judge Paula Abdul as lead judge with Andrew Günsberg as host. Judging alongside Paula Abdul will be, former Pussycat Dolls member Kimberly Wyatt and Travis Payne, choreographer for Michael Jackson's This Is It concert. The show is set to rival So You Think You Can Dance and unlike most other reality shows, allows dancers of all ages to compete.

The Press Release:
The new CBS reality-competition series LIVE TO DANCE, which will feature one of the most inclusive talent searches ever on television, will debut with a special two hour episode, Tuesday, Jan. 4 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Paula Abdul will serve as executive producer, mentor and lead expert of the series. LIVE TO DANCE will move to its regular time period on Wednesdays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on Jan. 5, and then be broadcast LIVE starting Wednesday, Jan. 12. The premiere episode of LIVE TO DANCE will follow dancers from across the country auditioning for Abdul and the series' experts in specially constructed Dance Domes that were built in both New York and Los Angeles to host the auditions. At the end of the premiere episode, a group of dancers from all styles, backgrounds and ages will be selected for the LIVE TO DANCE cast. When the show moves to its regular time period on Wednesday, Jan. 5, an additional group of dancers from the Dance Dome auditions, who the experts feel deserve a second look, will have one final opportunity to compete in a "dance-off," to earn a coveted spot in the LIVE TO DANCE cast. Those contestants who make it through the "dance-off" will travel to Los Angeles, rounding out the final cast of 18 dance acts. Starting Wednesday, Jan. 12, the first six dance acts will compete against each other LIVE on CBS with two acts advancing. After a total of three rounds, the six dance acts that have advanced will compete against one another in the grand finale, where they will battle for the right to be crowned LIVE TO DANCE champion and awarded a $500,000 prize.

Thoughts from the Media Room:  Oh Paula, I've missed you and your booze riddled assessments of competetors.  I'm glad you're back on television.  Do I need the dansing? Not really.  I just could watch Paula talk for an hour and I'd be happy, either that or totally annoyed.

Meanwhile, Daphne throws her hat into the high school ring for student council president, and Katie reveals a secret to Stephanie about her relationship with Joshua - aka The Watcher.

Thoughts from the Media Room:  I'm still so torn on this show, I'll finish the season and let ABC make the decision for me.  Personally I'm not sure it'll get a second season.

9:00

Shore adds his comedic flare to the series by delivering his commentary throughout each episode.

Thoughts from the Media Room:  Pauly Shore? Really?

Fringe - New Time Slot - Fox
Where we left off:
The Fringe team tracks down cases of people having had donated organs removed. One particular man had his heart removed, yet remained alive for several minutes afterwards. They come to learn the organs all belong to the same person, Amanda, a young ballerina that had committed suicide. Walter recognizes evidence that suggests the culprit is following on previous work he and William Bell had done on restoring life to dead bodies, that he has been injecting his victims with a serum that virtually halts cellular decay, in order to assuage his conscience, and then calling paramedics to help them, as there is a possibility that they could be saved by modern medicine with the help of the serum. They trace the culprit to Roland Barrett, a man that had met Amanda at a suicide counseling clinic and became enraptured with her. Having reassembled her body from the corpse and donated organs, Barrett is able to bring her back to life but, when he looked at her, realized that it wasn't really Amanda he brought back. The resurrected girl later dies again. Meanwhile, Olivia attempts to adjust to life back in her world, and finds it emotionally difficult to with how Alternate-Olivia integrated herself into Olivia's life, particularly her relationship with Peter. She breaks down at the end of the episode, demanding to Peter how he couldn't tell it wasn't Olivia that he had been sleeping with, Peter unable to answer her. As Walter and Peter later go out for a milkshake, the Observer is seen watching them, and he reports on his phone that "He is still alive".
