Daily News - October 4th 2010

It's been a busy few days around the net when it comes to media. So let's not waste any time and get right to it.

I've already given a run-down of what's on tonight here. A few shows are are on some serious ratings watch after a week of some very large drops. In the premiere week nerd favorite Chuck had a rating of 6.10 million and in it's second week Chuck had 5.26 million. That's quite a drop and the execs at NBC have noticed. Lone Star was at 4.54 for a few weeks before it got dropped. The producers of Chuck really hope that they can hover around at least the 6 million mark before some serious questions start getting asked at the end of the season. NBC had to drop fan favorite Heroes last year after a bad few years. Will they drag Chuck through the mud like that? Only the ratings will tell. The Event had a drop of almost 2 million viewers between weeks and the reviews haven't been stellar. J.J. Abrams can only save the show for so long. The show really can't afford too much of a drop this week before NBC execs start wondering about that one as well. After two weeks I'm still not sure about The Event, I'm not digging the event and something seriously seems missing from the show, but I really can't put my finger on it. Maybe it's the fact that they really don't seem to take The Event seriously. Finally Chase, in it's first week it got a decent 7.84 million rating and 6.23 million in it's second. The show isn't very good and the 10:00 pm hour has much better options, if you're looking for a cop like show, I think the ratings hit Hawaii Five-O is where people are tuning in. It's getting much better reviews, plus the crew from Hawaii is averaging over 13 million viewers a week.

Now we've scanned the numbers, let's get into some news.

Forget the other issues going on in America, they've finally taken care of something of true importance ;)
