What's playing in the Media Room - October 5th 2010
Happy new episode of Glee day! Another crammed Monday night last night,
I was able to catch up on some of my CW shows last night. I'm losing
interest in Nikita fast and my interest in Vampire Diaries is levelling
out a bit. To the producers of How I Met Your Mother, umm, another
stinker last night. I realize that you're building Ted up to be in the
right place at the right time for when he meets Jennifer Morrison. But
good lord to you have to make it so boring. I found House interesting
last night, well I find the Huddy thing interesting, didn't find the
medical case interesting at all. Ratings wise last night, Chuck picked
up a few thousand to 5.37, The Event, yikes, you really better start
worrying. The NBC dropped almost 1.5 million last night down to 7.46.
Not looking good.
But let's look at tonight
No Ordinary Family - 8:00 - ABC - Season 1 Episode 2
Episode Title: No Ordinary Marriage
Jim attempts to track down some elusive bank robbers, Stephanie looks
into discovering the source of the family's newly acquired powers, and
Daphne, trying to find a way keep the voices in her head from drowning
out her ability to read minds, discovers that JJ has become a super
genius but is hiding it from the family. Meanwhile Jim and Stephanie not
only keep their powers a secret from the world but from each other too,
as Stephanie discovers Jim has become a crime fighter and Jim finds out
that Stephanie has used her new power of speed - after promising not to.
After watching the pilot I'm still not sure about this show. I want it
to be a geeky superhero show, but I don't think that's the route we're
going here.
NCIS - 8:00 - CBS - Season 8 Episode 3
Episode Title: Short Fuse
The NCIS team has to work with the FBI when they learn that a female
bomb tech is linked to a murder.
The Biggest Loser - 8:00 Two Hours - NBC - Season 10 Episode 3
Episode Title: 1003
One contestant expresses a wish to go home this week, creating drama and
tension in the house, while another group of players form a secret
alliance. Trainer Bob Harper puts the contestants through a grueling
workout, zeroing in on one player he thinks has shown him disrespect,
and later, trainer Jillian Michaels tries to bring out the athlete in
two contestants she thinks need extra attention. Tennis superstar Anna
Kournikova gives all the players tennis lessons for a total body workout
before a tennis ball pop challenge. Then the players are surprised by
another early weigh-in, and those who fall below the yellow line face a
wild elimination challenge involving 175 tons of sand before another
contestant is send home.
Glee - 8:00 - Fox - Season 2 Episode 3
Episode Title: Grilled Cheesus
Finn has an existential crisis when he believes he sees the face of
Jesus in his grilled cheese sandwich. Meanwhile, the rest of the kids
rally around Kurt after he has a crisis of his own that leads to a
larger discussion among the group about their own theology.
Judging by the previews I saw for this last week, get out the tissue box
as it looks like it's going to be a very emotional episode.
One Tree Hill - 8:00 - The CW - Season 8 Episode 4
Episode Title: We All Fall Down
Brooke deals with the mounting financial toubles at Clothes Over Bros.
Nathan and Haley come to a conclusion regarding Nathan's career. Julian
begins a new film project and Alex spends an afternoon with Chase!
Season 8? Really?
Dancing with the Stars -9:00 - ABC - Season 11 Episode 6
Episode Title: Results
The judge's results from yesterday will be joined with the public
voting. The couple with the lowest combined total will be eliminated.
Last week's eliminated celebrity Michael Bolton and Ne-yo are the guest
performers.
Season 11? Really?
NCIS: Los Angeles - 9:00 - CBS - Season 2 Episode 4
Episode Title: Special Delivery
A Marine with a top-level security clearance is found dead and missing a
hand in Beverly Hills. His death appears to be connected to a recent
tour in Iraq.
Raising Hope - 9:00 - Fox - Season 1 Episode 3
Episode Title: Dream Hoarders
When Jimmy "teaches" Hope to crawl, the family must baby-proof the house
and find new places to store their belongings. It's soon revealed that
Virginia is a hoarder and has been saving junk in the storage shed,
which becomes Hope's favorite new hiding place. This leads Virginia to
realize that she may have to change her ways. Meanwhile, Jimmy makes
frequent unnecessary trips to the grocery store to see Sabrina.
I'm enjoying this one, I hope it sticks around. It gets a good lead-in
show with Glee.
Life Unexpected - 9:00 - The CW - Seaosn 2 Episode 4
Episode Title: Team Rebounded
Cate tries to improve her rocky work relationship with Ryan by bonding
with Ryan's new radio partner, Kelly. Cate's plan goes awry when Kelly
reveals one of Cate's secrets to Ryan. Meanwhile, Tasha makes an
unexpected return to Portland and tells Lux that she will be living with
a new foster family. Math has a crush on Paige, and Baze convinces Math
to ask her out.
For some reason this show gets a lot of hype on the internet, not sure
why.
Running Wilde - 9:30 - Fox - Season 1 Episode 3
Episode Title: Oil & Water
Trying to impress Emmy, Steve says that he is going to quit his job at
Wilde Oil on his first day at the office. Meanwhile, Puddle gets some
unexpected help on the science fair project, and Fa'ad gets locked in a
vodka cellar.
Ugh.
Detroit 1-8-7 - 10:00 - ABC - Season 1 Episode 3
Episode Title: Nobody's Home/Unknown Soldier
A woman murdered in an apparent robbery is the latest assignment for
Fitch & Washington and Longford & Majahan but it's not as
straightforward as it appears. The victim was a squatter in Brush Park.
Stone and Sanchez are working on the case of a murdered teenager found
with his father who although severely beaten is still alive. The case
uncovers a scam involving vintage cars.
I'm really enjoying the cast on this one and the stories have been
pretty good, nothing new here. But still entertaining.
The Good Wife - 10:00 - CBS - Season 2 Episode 2
Episode Title: Double Jeopardy
Cary tries to stack the deck against Alicia during the trial of an Army
reservist accused of murdering his wife. Meanwhile, Childs resorts to
dirty tricks in an effort to mar Peter's campaign.
Parenthood - 10:00 - NBC - Season 2 Episode 4
Episode Title: Date Night
Kristina schedules a date night with Adam after learning some alarming
news about divorce rate. Meanwhile, Sarah sees Drew with a girl and
offers him unwanted advice. Haddie runs for student council president
and gets the family to help her. Crosby learns a very important lesson
about being a father.
Hasn't performed very well this season and ratings are starting to get
quite low on this. I'm wondering if fans picked this last year and
caught up on The Good Wife during the off-season after hearing all the
acclaim The Good Wife got last year and didn't go back to Parenthood.
Sons of Anarchy - 10:00 - FX Network - Season 3 Episode 5
Episode Title: Turning and Turning
To help Gemma, SAMCRO and Abel, Jax conspires with an unlikely source.
Meanwhile, the MC puts Chucky undercover.
Caprica - 10:00 - Space - Season 1 Episode 10
Episode Title: Unvanquished
Clarice visits Gemenon to pitch a terrorist attack to the STO
leadership, while Daniel has a meeting with the Ha'La'Tha, where he
seeks support for creating a virtual afterlife.
Tuesday nights are getting busier and that's not good, the second day of
the week I'm falling behind fast. Just from last night I've got to
watch The Event and Castle. Plus I still need to catch up on Sunday
night's US Cable shows. Oh Dexter, please be better. Tonight I'm
looking at: No Ordinary Family, Glee, Raising Hope, Detroit 187,
Parenthood, Sons of Anarchy.
Enjoy the night!
