Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows trailer

Here is the clip of the trailer that aired at the MTV video awards the other night...just incase people didn't catch the show...

I can't wait for these two movies, part one arrives November 19th 2010 and part two arrives July 15th 2011...yikes that's a long wait...

Here's the clip...

Previews of ABC's Scoundrels and The Gates...

Starting off with Scoundrel's...someone mentioned to me about this show so I checked it out...judging from the preview it doesn't look all that great to me...pretty decent cast, here's hoping it gets better from here...

Can a family of small-time criminals go legit? Scoundrels tells the story of the Wests, who are forced to change their lifestyle after the man of the house gets sent to the big house. Cheryl, loving mother and devoted wife, will do everything she can to keep her family together and on the straight and narrow.

Scoundrels stars Virginia Madsen as Cheryl West; David James Elliott as Wolfgang "Wolf" West; Patrick Flueger as Logan West/Calvin "Cal" West; Leven Rambin as Heather West; Vanessa Marano as Hope West and Carlos Bernard as Sergeant Mack.

Scoundrels is produced by ABC Studios and is based on a New Zealand series entitled Outrageous Fortune. Lyn Greene & Richard Levine (Nip/Tuck) and Francie Calfo serve as executive producers. John Barnett, whose company, South Pacific Pictures, produces the New Zealand series, is also an executive producer. Co-executive producers are Michael Larkin, Michael Goldstein, Bruce Cervi and John Lansing.

Now let's take a look at The Gates, just watched the promo and good lord this looks pretty bad as well...it looks like a mix between Twilight and Desperate Housewives, if those shows are your thing, then you should like this...scanning the cast list I only recognize Rhona Mitra(Doomsday) and she's more famous for looking like Kate Beckingsale then anything she's acted in...not even sure if I'll catch the pilot of this...

Nestled inside a private mountain community are The Gates. The image of perpetual suburban bliss, each street is lined with perfectly manicured homes protected by the massive iron gates, but a dark and delicious secret is buried just beneath the surface of this picturesque neighborhood.

Like most families that settle inside The Gates, the Monohans are unmoored from a complicated life they abandoned in Chicago. Named the new police chief of The Gates, Nick Monohan is expecting a change of pace in this quiet suburb. Nick's wife, Sarah, and their children, Charlie and Dana, are embarking on new adventures as well. Their house is to die for, but amidst the excitement, Sarah is still burdened with the revelation that her husband may not be the man she thought he was. Charlie and Dana will also face some challenges of their own: Along with navigating the trials and tribulations of adolescence, they'll also face the daunting task of fitting into their new upscale school, where their new friends run in tight-knit packs.

There's something very different about this place, almost... haunting. Unions will be complicated by friends with unnatural influence, insatiable housewives will struggle with ravenous cravings, and teenagers will be cursed with keeping their beastly instincts in check. The Monohans are facing an uncertain fate. Nick is about to be tangled up in a mystery where he will begin to piece together the dark truth about their new home, and the supernatural elements that lurk behind the shadows of The Gates.

The Gates stars Frank Grillo as Nick Monohan, Marisol Nichols as Sarah Monohan, Rhona Mitra as Claire Radcliff, Luke Mably as Dylan Radcliff, Travis Caldwell as Charlie Monohan, Skyler Samuels as Andie Bates, Colton Haynes as Brett Crezski, Chandra West as Devon, Victoria Platt as Peg Mueller, Justin Miles as Marcus Jordan and Janina Gavankar as Leigh Turner. The Gates is produced by Fox Television Studios. The series is executive-produced by Gina Matthews and written and executive-produced by Grant Scharbo and Richard Hatem.

Both these shows start June 20th...

True Blood Season 3 Preview...

True Blood Season 3 starts on Sunday night...can't remember where we left off...well here's a reminder...

Bon Temps reaches a fever pitch as Maryann prepares for her ultimate bestial sacrifice, conscripting Sookie to be maid of honor at the bloody nuptials. Deliberating on what may be his final move to save Sookie and the town, Sam places his trust, and his life, in a most unlikely ally. Jason leads Andy into the heroic abyss. Hoyt struggles with Maxine's endless stream of insults. Sophie-Anne warns Eric to keep the lid on Bill's inquisitiveness.   Bill and Sookie finally get a chance to have a nice dinner togeher and while Sookie is in the washroom it appears that Bill has been kidnapped.

I personally loved the first season of this series and was pumped for what they were bringing in season two...but I was very let down, the plot they had seemed like it could have been done in 6 episodes instead of the 12 that aired...there was a chunk in the middle that just seemed to be repeating over and over for a few weeks there...but...
What can we expect in Season 3?  Here's what HBO.com is saying:

The Maenadian reign of terror may be over, but Sookie Stackhouse and the townspeople of Bon Temps face a new calamity – ushered in by a pack of vicious, blood-sucking werewolves – that makes the bacchanalian evils of Maryanne Forrester seem tame by comparison. Welcome to the third season of the smash-hit HBO series True Blood!

True Blood is the sexy, scary, wildly entertaining drama series from Oscar® and Emmy®-winning Alan Ball (HBO’s Six Feet Under), and based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris. Mixing romance, suspense, mystery and humor, True Blood tells the ongoing tale of Sookie (Anna Paquin, Golden Globe-winner for this role), a waitress with telepathic gifts -– and an irresistible attraction to now-174-year-old vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), who went missing in the Season 2 finale.

With the assistance (and often hindrance) of locals –- including her newly inspired brother Jason (Ryan Kwanten), shape-shifting boss Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell), in-mourning pal Tara Thornton (Rutina Wesley), Tara’s vamp-linked cousin Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis), on-the-wagon detective Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer), vampire sheriff Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård) and teen vamp Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) –- Sookie desperately tries to locate her fiancé as Season 3 opens, ending up in a netherworld of human and undead interlopers, among them the Vampire King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington (Denis O’Hare) and his followers: a pack of vicious werewolves who feed on vampire blood.

I'm not sure if any of you saw the excellent promo photos that HBO has been doing for True Blood but here you go, they are pretty fantastical...so far 11 of 12 have been released so far...I'll post up the 12th when it comes out...

Alright, time for some video...

Want to know what happens in the first few episodes? Then read below, could be considered spoilers, so read at your own risk.

Bud reaches the end of his rope and Arlene copes with unexpected news. Franklin charms Tara, and gets Jessica out of a jam, Eric bequeaths a gift to Lafayette. Haunted by visions from his past, Bill makes a surprising pledge of allegiance.

And finally for those that like that kinda thing, Spoilers, scroll on down if you want to read them:

The upcoming season's third episode will contain one of the most twisted sex scenes in television history. Three major characters will be shot in the forehead early in the season, but there is a catch.

Zeljko Ivanek returns as the Magister, and he's cracking down on the illegal V trade in Louisiana. This is a problem for the Queen, since she's tacitly allowing it, and for Eric and Pam, since they're running it.

Sookie will turn to Eric for help in finding Bill. Russell Edginton concocts a plan to consolidate his powers. Bill will make a surprising pledge of allegiance.

Tara will have a vampire love interest to be played by James Frain. He's tall, extremely dark, and handsome.

Any chance Gran might be back? "There's a chance," executive producer Alan Ball told EW.com's Tim Stack. "I don't think she's gonna come back and go like, 'Oh, you know what? I'm not dead!' But she certainly can appear in flashbacks or in visions, or perhaps there's a different reality that someone might go into." Hmmm ... a different reality ...

Someone will have a surprise as a result of the group social activities that occured last season.

More Lafayette this season.

Shocking Plots:

The Bombshell Secret

Ever since Queen Sophie-Anne graced the second season of True Blood, Bill and Sookie fans have been haunted with a theory from the Charlaine Harris books that would certainly destroy their favorite vampire-human couple: that Bill is working for the Queen and he came to Bon Temps to seduce Sookie with ulterior motives. It's certainly an issue that would divide True Blood fans as this will push Sookie right into the arms of Eric, and while series creator Alan Ball hasn't really followed the novels to the letter, he isn't completely shutting out the idea either.

"It's certainly something that I found really compelling in the books," Ball told Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello of Bill's deep dark secret. "I was like, 'Wow.' But I can't really tell you what I'm going to do story-wise. So much of the appeal of the show depends on the element of surprise."

"I try to stay out of how the fans are responding to the show," he added. "I have to tell the story that I think is the most interesting story. Certainly, the main ingredient in drama is conflict and revelations. For every person who loves Bill and wants him and Sookie to just be in love always, there's another person who's like, 'I'm sick of Bill. He's such a wuss. I like Eric. He's dangerous.' Especially when you're working on a show like this with the kind of palette and the colors you use; you want it to be continually surprising and shocking. Not for the sake of being shocking, but that's part of the fun."

Sookie and Eric, will they or won't they?

Season 2 left fans with a cliffhanger that saw Bill being abducted just before Sookie was supposed to accept his marriage proposal. Now that Bill is seemingly and temporarily out of the picture, we are now left wondering if Eric and Sookie will finally get together in season 3. But Ball tells TV Squad, "I can't tell you if they're going to get together, because that's going to ruin the anticipation. But, if you've been following season two, he's definitely been doing things to make her more vulnerable and more susceptible to him. And he does want her, he's just not sure why. I think it's deeper than just, 'I want her because Bill Compton has her.' Although that's part of it, because Eric is a total alpha-dog."

Promo trailer for this season's Entourage...

Just stumlbed across this diddy...I can't believe Entourage is entering its 7th season, seems like Vince and crew just got here...when Entourage is on it's one of my favorite shows on the tele, but when it's not it's pretty awful...which is starting to happen more and more the last couple of seasons...

Season 7 starts June 27th...

Trailer for AMC's newest Drama...Rubicon...

Wow, it would appear that AMC is on a bit of a roll the last few years.  Mad Men, Breaking Bad and the upcoming Walking Dead series.  They've built up slowly but they've currently got two of the highest rates shows on television right now.  Today AMC has brought the trailer for their newest Drama.  Rubicon.  I've viewed this trailer a couple times now and it's got me excited.

"Rubicon is an incredible story about trust and power born out of the desire to find a way to capture the intensity and mystery of the best conspiracy thrillers in a series. It is a show that appeals to everyone who has some skepticism about the relationship between big business and our government, which we think is pretty much everybody,” said Joel Stillerman, SVP of original programming, production and digital content for AMC. “Our stellar cast and creative team allow us to continue to present premium television on basic cable."

A sneak peek of AMC's newest original drama, Rubicon, will air on Sun., Jun. 13 @ 11PM

10C, immediately following the Season 3 Finale of Breaking Bad.

Star Wars, Daft Punk, Snoop Dogg, Oasis and David Beckham make one great commercial...

What else can one say after that intro?  Nothing, let's just play it already.

Sam Mendes directs the first Iphone 4 commercial...

Another cool video that has popped up today is a commercial directed by Oscar winning director Sam Mendes of the new Iphone.  The video specifically is showing the new video calling features and what it's capable of.  Pretty Slick.

Mysterious Mortal Kombat footage appears on the net...

The net is all a flutter this afternoon/this evening as some very mysterious footage of Mortal Kombat has popped up.  No one is sure what it's for, at one point people had figured it was for a new MK game.  But this seems like a long and expensive commercial, starring  Michael Jai White and Jeri Ryan.  The piece was directed by Kevin Tancharoen.  The thing that makes this footage so good is, it's actually violent like the video game and more so in fact, this movie would be a hard R.  That was the big difference between Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat back in the day.  If they can make a full length movie like this sampler, it might make us forget the garbage they've already released using the Mortal Kombat name.  Maybe not.

Glee Season One Finale...

The Glee finale airs tomorrow night at 9:00 on Global and Fox. Been a long season, yes it’s only been one season. I don’t hide the fact that I was a Glee fan, I say was because before the 3 month hiatus Glee was fantastic. Then the break came and the show totally blew up, multiple CD’s came out and they lined up “guest stars” galore. Not truly guest stars, but they dedicated an episode to an artist. But sadly for me the entire episode became about the guest star itself and little about the shows and about the plots they started in the first three months. I hope the producers of the show take a step back and take a look at the show. Remember what made it so great in the first 3 months and return to that. So this ends the first season, meanwhile Fox has already announced that Glee has been picked up for a third season.

Here is the synopsis of Tuesday’s episode:

Quinn is getting more anxious by the minute as she expects the baby, plus, Regionals is finally here, but will the Glee Club be able to triumph over Sue Sylvester's plots?

A Promo for the episode:

What else is starting Monday July 7th...

Tomorrow night we've also got two other shows starting.  Two shows I won't be watching, but still they'll be on.

At 8 PM on NBC we've got Last Comic Standing.

And at 8 PM on Fox we've got Lie To Me.

Preview of The Good Guys

Tomorrow night at 9:00 we've also got the premiere of Fox's The Good Guys at 9:00 PM.  They aired an episode a few weeks ago and it looks like a nice fun cop show with a twist.  It's stars Bradley Whitford from The West Wing with a great mustache and Colin Hanks from Orange County.

Here's a trailer...

Here's the write-up from Fox's site.

From Matt Nix ("Burn Notice"), comes THE GOOD GUYS, a new action comedy about what happens when an old-school cop and a modern-day detective expose the big picture of small crime.

Once upon the 1970s, DAN STARK (Bradley Whitford) and his partner, Frank Savage, were big-shot Dallas detectives. So big, in fact, that they were lauded as American heroes after saving the Governor's son. Thirty years later, Dan Stark is a washed-up detective who spends most of his time drunk or re-hashing his glory days. A stranger to modern police work who would much rather trust his old-school police instincts, Dan has the reputation as being a bit of a wild card. Able to skate by on the heroic deeds of his yesteryear, he is still a semi-active presence on the force, and with the help of his liquor of choice, occasionally comes through to solve a petty crime.

Dan's new partner, JACK BAILEY (Colin Hanks), is an ambitious, by-the-book and overall good detective, but is sometimes a bit too snarky for his own good. His habit of undermining himself has earned him a dead-end position in the department, and he is stuck solving annoying petty theft cases that nobody else wants. Worse, he's been given the thankless task of babysitting Dan, the drunk pariah who can never keep partners for long. Jack may not see it, but he has little chance of getting out of his situation; his knack for making enemies at the station has assured he is not going anywhere.

Preview of Person's Unknown

Tomorrow Night at 10:00 we've got a new Drama starting on NBC.  From the trailers, it look's quite good, a tv event and I love me my tv events.  It looks SUPER creepy and I know I'll be tuning in. The fact that it's on at 10:00 I think will help the show.

I've also attached a couple of trailers and a write-up from NBC.

From Academy Award-winning writer Christopher McQuarrie ("The Usual Suspects") and executive producers Heather McQuarrie and Rémi Aubuchon comes "Persons Unknown," a one-hour mystery drama in which a group of seven strangers must come together to solve the puzzle of their lives. All of them have been taken from their everyday lives and have arrived in a deserted town with no recollection of how they got there.

The eclectic group of strangers are Charlie Morse (Alan Ruck, "Spin City"); Janet Cooper (Daisy Betts, "Shutter"); Joe Tucker (Jason Wiles, "Third Watch"); Bill Blackham (Sean O'Bryan, "Six Feet Under"); Moira Doherty (Tina Holmes, "Six Feet Under"); Sergeant Graham McNair (Chadwick Boseman, "Lincoln Heights"); Tori Fairchild (Kate Lang Johnson, "Days of our Lives"); Erika Taylor (Kandyse McClure, "Battlestar Galactica"); Mark Renbe (Gerald Kyd, "Casualty"); and Kat Damatto (Lola Glaudini, "Invincible").

A couple faces you might recognize.

While being held hostage, the strangers are constantly watched by omnipresent "security" cameras with no idea who or what is behind them. Every attempt to leave is thwarted by unforeseen circumstances, which seem to derive from mysterious forces. At every turn, these strangers-turned-comrades are threatened physically, psychologically and emotionally.

Their chance at survival is to rely on each other. But who can they trust in this vulnerable state - either behind those cameras or amongst themselves? Their decisions will have moral and ethical consequences, as alliances are forged and relationships brokered.

News and Pics from the last few days...

Haven't posted in a few days, but I've gathered a few things up I wanted to share...

First:  Del Toro(Pan's Labrynth and Hellboy) has dropped out of shooting the Hobbit and now Peter Jackson is saying that he might direct the two Hobbit movies himself.  Myself plus I'm guessing many LOTR nerds are ok with this decision.  DO IT PETER!!

Donald Glover, a star in the NBC comedy Community(A Show people need to watch, hilarious) is using Twitter to petition to become the next Spider-Man.  Didn't know this, but apparently Glover was a writer on 30 Rock at one point.  I encourage people to sign into Twitter and tweet #donald4spiderman and you can follow Glover here.  Spider-Man 4 is due in theatres July 3rd 2012.

Following his match on Saturday night Rampage Jackson came out and said "Acting is kinda gay" and that he regrets doing "that stupid movie", that it took away from his fighting career.  Really sell that movie Mr. Rampage, makes me want to get right in line and buy a ticket.  The A-Team is coming to theatres June 11th 2010, so I guess next Friday?

A story broke today that The Cartoon Network in the States is bringing back Thundercats, a new version of Thundercats to be exact.  I don't know if any of you have gone back and watched Thundercats from the 80's, but I have and looking back at it, they're shit.

The Internet has been going crazy the last couple of days because there have been some renderings of what the Captain America suit is going to look like.  Nothing else to say about it, except I'm pumped.  Captain America: The First Avenger is due in theatres July 22nd 2011.

Almost lastly, The American cable channel AMC(Mad Men, Breaking Bad) is starting production on a GREAT Comic Series titled The Walking Dead, if you like graphic novel's or not.  Read this series, it just a fantastic story.  Can't wait to see how they do it, it's coming to tv's October 2010.  But today they've released a cool picture of what one of the zombie's will look like.

And now lastly; this is a rough time of year for tv peoples...the main season has just ended and we're a few weeks away from summer season kicking off.  CBS is starting to air episodes of Flashpoint that aired here in Canada a few months back.  Friday night at 9:00, I believe, so if you missed them, I suggest you check it out.  A great show that doesn't feel Canadian at all and yet they don't hide the fact they're in Toronto, LOVE IT.  The Good Guys starts this Monday on Fox and I hear good things.  I'll be checking that out.  Plus on Monday we've got a great looking show starting at 10 on NBC called Persons Unknown.  Looks like a great Thriller, Mystery "Tv Event"  I love TV Events! I'll try and have some pictures and more details by the weekend.

That's all I got for now...
