What's playing in the Media Room - October 26th 2010

Last night was another case of another night of falling behind, because
we were working late I didn't get home until after seven which doesn't
leave to much time for catching up on Sunday night shows. We did catch
Amazing Race from Sunday, I totally forgot about the Volleyball players
as they've hardly appeared on camera this season. Then I just watched
How I Met Your Mother, which wasn't a great episode main storyline wise,
nice little preview of Robin and Barney getting back together though.
Then I caught Two and a Half Men, blah, why oh why do I keep watching
this show?

Ratings Watch from Last Night:

The Event dropped to its series low last night, I guess fans are giving
up on the mystery. Lie to Me had a crap night with 4.27 million

What's Playing in the Media Room - October 25th 2010

After a weekend in the States, time to come back to what I do and that's watching me some television. Watched the second episode of School Pride when I got home last night, my god this show is heavy. I like how they don't just fix up the school, but they go out and talk to the politicians and see what the problem is and try and fix it. It's a real heartwarming show and where do they find these kids? The things these kids at Grade 4,5 and 6 are trying to do for their schools is amazing.

A great night for Blue Bloods on Friday drawing in just over 11 million people. I guess that's why they gave the full season order.

Some of these descriptions are sounding pretty good tonight, should be a good night.

Dancing With The Stars - 8:00 Two Hours - ABC - Season 11 Episode

90210 - 8:00 - The CW - Season 3 Episode 7

Daily News - October 20th 2010

TV News:

Wow, Back to the Future is super hot right now.  Doc Brown himself Christopher Lloyd is going to be guest starring in an episode(s) of Fringe early in the new year.

Gwyneth Paltrow will be performing at the CMA's this year, she'll be singing the title song from her upcoming movie "Country Song" with Vince Gill.

Christopher Klein from the American Pie series will be doing an episode of The Good Guys starring as a former partner of Colin Hanks' character.

The good folks at tvsquad.com have a great article listing the careers that started on Pee Wee's Playhouse.  Laurence Fishburne, Jimmy Smits, Sandra Bernhard, Natasha Lyonne and Phil Hartman.  The only one I remembered was Fishburne.

Much to my surprise Chase has now officially been given a full season order from NBC, as well as Chuck, not to my surprise.

President Obama must be just hoping from studio to studio, it's been announced that he'll be appearing on the October 27th episode of the Daily Show.

Charlie's stalker on Two and a Half Men Rose will be returning on the November 1st episode.

Apparently AMC would like to renew Rubicon, I said like to, I didn't say they would.  They aren't very happy with the ratings this season as they were often brutal this season.  The decision is still pending.  I say they hurry up and release those dvd's and see what happens from that.  One of the best written shows I've ever watched, I will admit the pacing can be a bit wacked but it's worth it.

The producers have a plan in case The Event  doesn't get renewed, they've written to wrap up in a nice bow with enough cliffhangers for season two if ordered.  They also promise that we'll find out where "the others" are from and what they want by the end of the season.  My guess is they're time travellers and aren't aliens like first thought.

The CW is getting into the musical spirit, following Glee's success The CW is now started work on their own version of the musical comedy targeting teens.

Tv Spoiler Section:

Ausiello Files are reporting that someone might be getting expelled in an episode of Glee soon.  The producers are also hard at work on the Christmas episode.

Also from the files, a reoccuring character will be dying soon on No Ordinary Family, as well as Julie Benz's parents will be popping in for a visit.

An upcoming episode of 30 Rock will take place on one of Matt Damon's flight with a lot of the cast on the flight.  If they could make that a live episode, it would be amazing.

Guillermo will be returning to Weeds near the end of the season.

A new couple will be forming on 90210 for those that still watch, Navid and Silver.

The Big C fans will be shocked to read that a major character will committ suicide by the end of the season.

Movie News:

Check out the teaser trailer for next summer's Cars 2.

This one baffles me, Mark Wahlberg is apparently in talks to star in the upcoming remake of The Crow.

Apparently several studios are in a bidding war for the remake of The Day of The Triffids.

Music News:

People have been wondering where Puck has been on Glee, well here's the previews for his album if you want to listen.  He's been off promoting this, stick to acting.

Equally stunning is that the Bieber is hoping to do an acoustic album, cash in while you can little man.

A bit rushed today, but still some good stuff.  Hope you enjoyed it.

What's playing in the media room - October 20th 2010

A great night last night, caught up on a tonne of stuff, cleared up a bunch of space from the pvr. Loving the teases we're getting on Castle, getting back to what makes Castle great, the tension between Castle and Beckett is hilarious. I'm truly growing bored with Two and a Half Men, same thing week to week and nothing ever changes. How I Met Your Mother got way back on track this week and was hilarious again. Lots of good stuff for the main plot. Also caught up on Dexter last night, what an episode, set up everything nicely for this season. I can see why people were annoyed with it, but seriously, you need an episode every once and a while to setup all the pieces for the season. What's up with that nanny?

Ratings Watch From Last Night:

When is someone going to put Running Wilde out of it's misery, a repeat of Raising Hope had a million more viewers, Wilde down to just over three million viewers. No Ordinary Family continues to slip lower to seven million. Detroit 187 started strong but fell by almost 2 million by 10:30, yikes.

What's playing in the Media Room - October 19th 2010

The slowest day of the week for me, Glee has it's first repeat tonight, the tv fan's most hated word, repeat, ugh. I don't watch the NCIS franchise so that helps me out quite a bit. Watched The Event last night and that had me frustrated again, nothing happened. I'm a Lost fan, so I can handle an episode where nothing happens, but at least have good acting. I tried to watch Big Bang theory but apparently my pvr messed up. Lesson learned, scan the list of recorded shows at 10:45 to make sure they've all recorded to the right amount of time before they start airing on the other coast so you have a chance to record that one if something messed up. I caught up on the episode of Terriers I'm behind on, this show really does get better everyweek. Most of the bloggers I follow love this one as well, if you get a chance to get your hands on it, watch it. You'll be entertained.

Let's look into tonight's lineup.

No Ordinary Family - 8:00 - ABC - Season 1 Episode 4

Episode Title: No Ordinary Vigilante

Jim is mistaken for a vigilante while trying to protect people in the park at night. Meanwhile, Daphne uses her powers to get herself invited to a party she normally wouldn't have been considered for.

Is anyone else watching this? Was anyone else confused about how one week a cop appeared to be killed and the next week we hear nothing about it?

NCIS - 8:00 - CBS - Season 8 Episode 5

Episode Title: Dead Air

The team investigates the death of a radio DJ and a Naval Officer who were both killed live on air, and their job becomes more difficult by the discovery of various suspects.

The Biggest Loser - 8:00 Two Hours - Season 10 Episode 5

Episode Title: 1005

One Tree Hill - 8:00 - The CW - Season 8 Episode 6

Episode Title: Not Afraid

With Halloween approaching in Tree Hill, Brooke and Julian receive a visit from someone unexpected. Nathan kicks off a new career, and Quinn and Clay have trouble adjusting to life at the beach house. Haley and Mia host an open mic night at Tric.

Rick Mercer Report - 8:00 - CBC

Episode Title: October 19th 2010

22 Minutes - 8:30 - CBC

Dancing With the Stars - 9:00 - ABC - Season 11 Episode 10

Episode Title: 1105A

Another famous person gets the boot and it'll be the biggest news story of the day tomorrow.

As you can tell, I'm not a fan.

Episode Titles:Donnie Gets Dirty and Wolf Attack

Craziness in the south I'm guessing, lots of laughing by us.

This show is soooo bad it's awesome, do yourself a favor and pvr just
one.

Running Wilde - 9:30 - Fox - Season 1 Episode 5

Episode Title: The Party

Steve tries to prove he can be less extravagent by throwing an environmentally friendly party.

Enjoy it while it's still here, next week is a double Raising Hope episode and some are wondering if Wilde will return. Some of us are praying it doesn't.

Detroit 1-8-7 - 10:00 - ABC - Season 1 Episode 5

Episode Title: Murder in Greektown/High School Confidential

Everyone is on alert after a teenage girl is killed at the same high school Lt. Mason's daughter attends. The numerous suspects include a construction worker with a record and the girl's boyfriend. It appears to be an inside job when the son of a prominent defense attorney is murdered after hours in a Greek restaurant.

This show has been lost in the shuffle somewhere and isn't getting enough press or ratings. It's one of my favorite new shows of the season now.

The Good Wife - 10:00 - CBS - Season 2 Episode 4

Episode Title: Cleaning House

Alicia gets involved in an ethical scandal, and risks disbarment and could also ruin Peter's political campaign. Meanwhile, a third candidate is revealed for state's attorney.

Meanwhile, Adam and Kristina are nervous about Max's new plans for the holiday. Sarah's relation with Gordon gets even more complicated when she confronts him about the kiss. Meanwhile, Julia struggles with women right when Sydney chooses a costume she doesn't approve of.

OH BABY! Just get to Belfast and let the war begin Samcro!

Caprica - 10:00 - Space - Season 1 Episode 12

Episode Title: Things We Lock Away

The repeat of Glee sucks, but it helps me catch up, I still haven't even started Sunday's lineup yet. Plus I've still got a few things from last night to catch up on as well. It just never ends, sigh. Tonight I'll be looking at No Ordinary Family, Detroit 187, Parenthood and of course Sons of Anarchy *cough* best show on television *cough*

Enjoy your night.

Daily News - October 18th

TV News:

Jason Lee has signed on to do a guest spot on Raising Hope, he'll play a down and out former rock star who plays a show at the grocery store featured on the show.  Raising Hope and My Name Is Earl are from the same producer/creator.

A look at the photo shoot that reunited the cast of The West Wing.

Just saw this and wanted to pass it on, it comes from the did you know files. Did you know that the Tony Award Winning Actress who played Rachel's mom on Glee last season is actually married to Taye Diggs!

As I wrote last week I think it was, Nicole Scherzinger is going to be guesting on How I Met Your Mother as Jessica Glitter, a friend from Robin's past. The great people at Zap2it.com have a video to share with everyone.

Apparently President Obama is going to appear on the November 8th episode of Mythbusters. Even the President loves the show!

I'm happy to share with you that Sarah Palin is pleased with daughter Brisols dancing on Dancing With The Stars. That sound you hear is me gagging and wondering why this is news????

Some great pictures from Entertainment Weeklys Popeater column, more great pictures from the upcoming Rocky Horror Glee special,

This news surprised me as I figured Chuck would have already had a full season order. Apparently they didn't and only got a first 13 episode order to start the season and is working out the details as you read this to get a back nine order.
Even more surprising NBC pickup news, NBC has ordered the back nine episodes for The Event, Law And Order: Lost Angeles and Outsourced. Happy about The Event because it's really picking up steam now. Law and Order, still undecided about and I'm not really digging Skeet. If you've ever spent anytime flipping around this Blog you know how much I HATE Outsourced. But it's in a very good time-slot behind The Office so this news shouldn't surprise anyone. Fans are left wondering what will happen to the far funnier Parks and Rec. Also surprising is that they are looking at giving Chase the same kind of order. It should be noted at this point that most if not all of NBC's 10 pm shows are doing worse then Jay Leno did in the same spot last year and we all know how that ended.

Movie News:

There was a rumor floating around the Internet yesterday that the celebrity cameo in Hangover 2 might be Tiger Woods. Well today EW did some digging and found out it's actually going to be none other than Mel Gibson! They report that he won't be playing himself like Mike Tyson did in the original. That he'll be playing an over the top type of character like Tom Cruise did in Tropic Thunder. I just wonder if the line Sugar Tits will be uttered somewhere in his appearance.

Mark your calendars! Iron Man 3 will have a May 3 2013 release date! Already announced Thor is due May 6th 2011 and Captain America is due July 22nd 2011.

A couple of things from the Green Lantern Movie, today Daily Blam leaked the first photo of the Green Lantern Battery and some plot details: In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan. Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

Zoolander 2 is in the works, apparently Jonah Hill is set to appear as well. It'll deal with the models handling turning 40.

An update on the geek loved book Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, there is a rumor floating around that it will star Scarlett Johansson and Bradley Cooper.

Earlier today the teaser trailer for Scream 4 was leaked for anyone that still has any interest in watching that.

Martin Freeman who was the original "Jim" from The Office UK, has signed on to play Bilbo Baggins in the hopefully to be released The Hobbit.

This fits under both tv and movie news, but Deadline.com is reporting that fresh off working on the Rocky Horror Glee episode, Glee creator Ryan Murphy is being offered a deal to remake the movie itself. This is a bad bad idea, the timing of the original Rocky Horror Picture Show was when it needed to be. Glee is super hot and probably gets more press then any show on television right now, but we don't need to start making on these musicals because of that.

Here's a look at the plot for Transformers 3: The Dark of the Moon. The Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, are back in action, taking on the evil Decepticons, who are determined to avenge their defeat in 2009’s Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. In this new movie, the Autobots and Decepticons become involved in a perilous space race between the U.S. and Russia, and once again human Sam Witwicky has to come to the aid of his robot friends. There's new characters too, including a new villain in the form of Shockwave, a longtime "Transformers" character who rules Cybertron while the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out on Earth.

Check out the trailer for Winter's Bone, it's a movie that's getting crazy press everywhere it's played and you'll prolly hear a lot about it come January.

Music News:

Kanye West released what the cover of his next album will look like and apparently Walmart isn't real happy with it. It doesn't looked like the massive music moved that is Walmart is going to sell the album in its stores at this point. Just went to another website and Walmart is now saying the cover isn't banned.

Beastie Boys were working on Hot Sauce Committee 1 when MCA found out he had cancer. Now comes word that Hot Sauce Committee 2 is being worked on and has a release date of "spring 2011". No word if Hot Sauce 1 will ever be released.

That's all I've got to share with you today, enjoy your Monday night viewing.

What's playing in the Media Room - October 18th 2010

It was a fun weekend of Ghost Walks and Turkey Trots, also we were able to clear off the PVR for another week of glorious television. Last night's schedule was exhausting if you tried to watch everything and thank goodness that a couple things ended.

Dancing With the Stars - 8:00 Two Hours - ABC - Season 11 Episode

Foreman must find a new female doctor to fill the spot vacated by
Thirteen and House and Wilson learn a thing or two about parenting while
caring for Cuddy's daughter.

Rules of Engagement - 8:30 - CBS - Season 5 Episode 5

I'll say it every week until it's not, but how the hell is this show on?

a second unknown woman tumble out of the casket. The victim turns out to
be a doctor at County Hospital. Now it's up to Beckett and Castle to
determine if the world of bed-hopping physicians created murderous
jealousy or if the doctor's work outside of the hospital got her
killed. Gina's attempt to bond with Alexis puts a strain on her
relationship with Castle.

Loving this one, such a nice light show to end the night with.

Hawaii Five-0 - 10:00 - CBS - Season 1 Episode 5

Episode Title: Nalowale

When a young teenage girl's body is found near Waikiki, Steve and the
team are assigned to finding her missing sister. The case is further
complicated since their father is Michael Reeves an United States

Wasn't too thrilled with last weeks, so I'm hoping for a bit of a
rebound this week.

Chase - 10:00 - NBC - Season 1 Episode 5

Episode Title: Above The Law

A fugitive convicted of defrauding investors of millions of dollars

Weeds - 10:00 - Showtime - Season 7 Episode 9

itself so seriously and is a comedy again.

and 8:30.
TLC has Little People at 8:00, new episodes of Cake Boss at 9:00 and
9:30.
A & E has a new Hoarders episode at 10:00.

One of my favorite nites on the tube tonight, so much to watch and a
tonne to catch up on from last night. Tonight I'll be checking out How
I Met Your Mother, The Event, House, Two and a Half Men, Castle, Hawaii
Five-0, Weeds and The Big C. Yowsers that's a lot.

Big Bang Theory Vs. Community

This was one of the most hyped time-slot battles all summer and it had me very concerned as I love, or should I say loved both of these shows.

The season has started and the nerds from Big Bang Theory are totally destroying the gang from Greendale at an almost 3 to 1 rating everyweek.  Things aren't looking good for Community to get a third season.  Personally, I feel that Community has changed and isn't the same show it was last year.  Last year the show was about the sexual tension between the main characters Britta and Jeff and the adventures that tension took the gang.  This year it's totally about pop culture references and how they can write the show to get to one of those references or an Abed and Troy comedic moment.

Most people will tell you that the best Big Bang episode is one that centers around Sheldon and that's because he's so socially awkward and you can't wait to see what totally crazy thing he'll do next or what totally insane thing he'll say.  After watching an episode of Community this year, I feel they're trying to do the same thing and it's totally not working.  Troy and Abed aren't the same socially awkard people, they're funny; but the show appears to be losing it's direction.  It's totally left the stories that made it great last year.

The big final kiss between Jeff and Annie and Britta declaring her love for Jeff have been swept under the rug so fast this year that you almost forget that they ever happened.  Those are two huge things that happened  and I loved the finale, but we need to get those storylines flushed out before just wrapping them up.  Jeff telling Annie it's not appropriate for them to be together and Britta saying she was just kidding isn't really wrapping it up.  They haven't really written anything with the same sexual tension between these characters in a few episodes and I think the show is suffering because of it.

Then we've got these pop culture references that I feel is steering the ship that is the script.  Last season they were there; but not at the same rate as this year.  It's not really helping that the jokes are being bundled into these references and that you need a pop culture dictionary with you when watching an episode.  I get the feeling sometimes that I'm missing parts of the show because I just don't know the reference.  As you know I watch a wee bit of television and I watch the odd movie.  If someone like me is missing some of  these references how are others expected to keep up with the show?

It's a really worry because there isn't really anywhere else you can move Community to try and help it.  Besides, does it really matter when your show is getting crushed by the competition so badly.  Community appears to be the lamb sacrificed to the lion.  A show averaging under 5 million viewers isn't exactly a great way to start off "Must See Thursday" comedy night.  It's too bad because both of these shows can be great, but it appears that one may have lost a viewer.

What's playing in the Media Room - October 17th 2010

A couple weeks ago I commented on someone's Facebook page about how I thought Thursday was my favorite night of television after they said Monday was their favorite. In writing up tonight's tv post, I really have to change my vote. Sunday is my favorite night of television, I don't watch everything obviously but some of the best shows of television are on Sunday nights. The only thing that could make Sundays better was if FX moved Sons of Anarchy to Sundays. Have I mentioned how much I like Sons of Anarchy?

Let's get into it:

Extreme Makeover - Home Edition - 8:00 - ABC - Season 8 Episode 4

Episode Title: Urban Family

ABC will build a crazy house, Ty will yell, Move that bus! Family will cry.

The Amazing Race 17 - 8:00 - CBS - Season 17 - Episode 4

Episode Title: We should have brought gloves and butt pads

The nine remaining teams set off from the Pit Stop at Awusa Ntso's house in Ghana on the fourth leg of the race.

A Sunday Night Staple!

Desperate Housewives - 9:00 - ABC - Season 8 Episode 4

Episode Title: The Thing That Counts What's Inside

Susan is horrified when she discovers that she has become the face of the provocative internet company she's been secretly working for and is now the cover model for their outdoor billboard ads. Gabrielle tells her coveted secret to the ladies and Renee finds out that Bree is a grandmother and uses it to her advantage in an attempt to steal Keith. Lynette takes advantage of daughter Penny's generous offer to help look after the baby and Paul purchases the home he shared with Mary Alice, against the will of his new wife.

I'm surprised that this still draws so many people.

Undercover Boss - 9:00 - CBS - Season 2 Episode 4

Episode Title: Frontier Airlines

Bryan Bedford, the CEO of Frontier Airlines goes undercover in own company.

Dexter - 9:00 - Showtime - Season 5 Episode 4

Episode Title: Beauty and The Beast

Dexter catches a mysterious woman who may have witnessed him in the act of killing a killer. Deb has a frightening run-in with a murder suspect in the Santa Muerte homicides. Quinn uncovers more similarities between Kyle Butler and Dexter Morgan.

The preview for this episode looked totally amazing. I've read a couple things about upcoming episodes. I never noticed that an actor was actually on the cover of the CD's that he was listening to last week. Hmmmmm.

Boardwalk Empire - 9:00 - HBO - Season 1 Episode 5

Episode Title: Nights In Ballygran

Nucky wishes to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in style, but Eli, Margaret and Van Alden have other plans.

I've only watch the first episode of this and I really need to catch up. I really enjoyed the first one, everyone I talk to rave about it.

Rubicon - 9:00 - AMC - Season 1 Episode 13

Episode Title: You Can Never Win

With the final pieces put together on connecting Kateb to Spangler. Kale and Will have to find a way to oust Spangler before he covertly takes action against them through the use of Mr. Roy. Meanwhile, someone issued a new four leafed clover.

Another one I'm way too far behind for my liking, this is one of the best written shows I've ever seen. Superb acting. Can't recommend this one enough.

Paranormal State - 9:00 Two Episodes - A & E - Season 5 Episode 1

Episode Title: House Arrest and They Come Out at Night

The team investigates a plantation in Sumter, SC.

The team heads out to New England to help a family that is dealing with demons and is ready to leave their home as a result.

Brothers & Sisters - 10:00 - ABC - Season 5 Episode 4

Episode Title: Righteous Kiss

Rebecca and Justin come to an impasse in their relationship. Holly breaks down, Saul tries to make a romantic connection with a friend.

This show really needs to end, everyone I know that did watch this has dropped it for the much better Parenthood.

CSI: Miami - 10:00 - CBS - Season 9 Episode 3

Episode Title: See No Evil

A blind man is the only witness to the abduction of a young girl and leads to the team to a familiar foe.

Mad Men - 10:00 - AMC - Season 5 Episode 13

Episode Title: Tomorrowland

Don and Peggy are face with life-altering decisions.

I've read on the internet that a major character isn't going to make it out of this season.

Bored To Death - 10:00 - HBO - Season 2 Episode 4

Episode Title: I've Been Living like a Demented God!

A professor hires Jonathan to track down a valuable item. George finds an alibi to explain his drug test results. Ray meets a familiar bar-fly.

This is a very clever comedy that people need to check out, plus it's got Galifinakas in it. That's reason enough to watch it.

Psychic Kids: Children Of The Paranormal - 10:00 - A & E - Season 3 Episode 1

Episode Title: Banishing Evil

Two kids attempt to banish an evil spirit tormenting one of them.

Sister Wives - 10:00 Two Epsiodes - TLC - Season Finale

Episode Titles: A Fourth Wife to be and Four Wives and Counting.

He marries his fourth wife and the show will end with the threat of going to prison.

Eastbound and Down - 10:30 - HBO - Season 2 Episode 4

Episode Title: Chapter 10

Roger warns Kenny about the perils of showboating, Kenny has competition in his courtship of Vida.

This one can be crude at times, but you will find yourself laughing.

After reading that aren't you excited to get to primetime and start watching some television! On my list for tonight is: Amazing Race, Rubicon, Mad Men, Dexter, Boardwalk Empire, Bored to Death and Eastbound Down.

Daily News - October 16th 2010

Movie News:

Earlier this week I blogged about the new Eric Stoltz footage from Back to the Future. Today I've actually got a picture of the family photo you remember from the first BTTF film, but it's actually got Stoltz in it instead of Fox. Very cool picture indeed.

Lost co-writer Damon Lindelof has written a script for an Alien prequel and Fox is loving it, Natalie Portman is on the top of their list to star. Lindelof is everywhere these days, I'm not sure if you've ever watched a Lindelof interview, but you should really look him up on You Tube because he's a hilarious, his Comic Con Lost panels are amazingly funny.

Check out this interview between Zach Galifinakis and Bruce Willis, it's AWESOME!!

Inception and Batman director Chris Nolan signed Inception's Tom Hardy to a lead role in Batman 3, rumors are flying around the internet that he might play either The Riddler or Killer Croc. Rumors of The Riddler being in Batman 3 have been around since The Dark Knight opened.

It would appear that almost everyone will be back to star in Hangover 2, except one player from the first film. That would be Heather Graham, a studio rep said there isn't really any room for Heather Graham in this story. From what I've read, the boys are heading to Bangkok so it really doesn't make any sense that Graham's character would be there.

Amy Adams is very close to signing a deal to star in Disney's upcoming Muppets movie written by How I Met Your Mother Star Jason Segel. The film is due Christmas 2011.

A very large story hit Twitter this afternoon and within 10 minutes I must have seen 40 tweets about it. The Hobbit has been in development hell for months if not longer. Del Toro quit over rumblings about 3D apparently. Fans cried to get Peter Jackson involved, rumors hit that Jackson was indeed directing. Then last week he reminded people that a) He wasn't sure he would actually direct the Lord Of The Rings prequel b) The movie actually hadn't been GREENLIT! Well, fellow nerds, you can relax, it was announced today that Jackson is indeed directing the film and the movie has been greenlit and production will start once they can figure out this labour issue with New Zealand. Yikes. The Hobbit will be told in two movies and I believe the first film was due in 2012, but who knows at this point.

One of the biggest hits out the Toronto Film Festival this year was Natalie Portman's Black Swan, I posted the first trailer a few weeks back in the trailer watch post. It looks fantastic, today the studio released the International posters and they look equally fantastical. Very old Hollywood. Enjoy.

Any Justin Bieber fans out there? Didn't think so. Apparenly there is an upcoming 3D Bieber flick coming, today it got a title. Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.

Neil Patrick Harris who's enjoying a massive comeback the last few years is now getting into directing. He's signed on to do the romantic comedy "Aaron and Sarah" starring Emma Roberts and Josh Hutcherson.

It was earlier this week or late last week it was announced that Warner Brothers wasn't going to have the first Harry Potter Deathly Hallows movie in 3D. They are still working on converting the movies to 3D for the Bluray release, along with previous three movies.

Two films I'm very surpised to read they're making: Journey To The Centre of The Earth 2 and Chipmunks 3. Really? Do we need those. Like, really.

Enjoy the first poster for Seth Rogan's upcoming Green Hornet flick. Love Seth Rogan, I do. But I really don't know about this movie.

You may have heard in the last few days about the outrage Vince Vaughns latest trailer has caused. Here's the trailer that started it all.

TV News

V is set to return January 4th at 9:00 PM.

Prison Break fans, or should I say Wentworth Miller fans might be happy to know that he's expressed some interest in taking over the lead role in Spartacus since they lead actor had to step aside because he's been diagnosed with Cancer.

ABC has decided to move No Ordinary Family to 9:00 PM in late November trying to give it a decent lead-in. What's the lead in? Why it's going to be the mega-hit Skating With The Stars. I kid you not.

Summer favorite Wipeout set to premiere in January, ABC is hurting with so many of their new shows not exactly getting the best ratings so far early in this fall season.

CBS must be pleased with How I Met Your Mother because they've ordered 2 more episode. The producers really hyped up this season, they said they realized their mistakes from last season. From what I've seen so far this season, it's more of the same, very insconsistant episodes. Some weeks it's the funniest thing on tv, the next week it's a struggle to get through all 30 minutes.

A huge story broke a couple days ago that the Lost guys are working on "secret" ABC Pilot. A couple of producers from Lost are putting together a series for ABC, if the series gets the green light, Damon Lindlelof will serve as a consultant for the show. I later then read on Newsarama that the comic nerds thinks it might be an adaptation of the Comic Book Series Fables. ABC has been working on trying to get Fables off the ground for years and apparently a few of the Lost boys have development deals with ABC. A brief description was found out apparently and does seem very much like Fables. Only time will tell on this one. After reading comments on a few sites about this story, Lost fans are still VERY BITTER on how Lost ended. It's over, move on with your life.

E! announced that they'll be premiering Married to Rock, November 7th at 10:30. The series will follow Susan Holmes McKagan, married to former Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan, who joined and left Jane's Addiction this year; Etty Farrell, whose husband is Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell; Josie Stevens, a model married to Billy Idol's longtime guitarist Steve Stevens; and AJ Celi, who has been in a relationship with guitarist Billy Duffy of the Cult for the past three years.

Samuel Jackson is developing a crime drama for The CW, "Hacksaw" will have a twenty-something man who thinks he's a relation to Sherlock Holmes. He sees a psychiatrist who has a sister who's a cop and thinks he can help solve crimes.  Ya, it doesn't sound very good to me either.

Robert De Niro is producing a crime drama for CBS titled, Rookies. The story will be around young police officers that are thrown into high-crime areas of I'm assuming New York.

TBS is working on bringing a celebrity karaoke show on the air based on a Funny Or Die video. Sounds thrilling.

The mega-hit How to Train Your Dragon is about to become a cartoon series for the Cartoon Network. When I say about to become, I mean: It's due to hit the air in 2012.

Would you believe that teen show iCarly got 7 million viewers on Monday evening. Me either, but that's the number that Nickelodeon is selling.

Some updates from Ask Ausiello: A "significant" break coming on House, a possible wedding on a Christmas episode of Glee, Puck will miss one more episode of Glee but will be back in November. I seem to remember reading somewhere, I can't remember where now, I scan about 40 pop culture sites all day, anyway, I do recall reading that Puck was off promoting his first solo record and that's why he hasn't been on Glee.

Disney owns ABC, Disney also owns Marvel, so that means we should be expecting to see some of Marvels greatest heroes on the small screen the next few years. Potentially first up is none other then the green giant Hulk himself.

Apparently ABC and Marvel are also tossing around ideas for a Punisher series. Now, I'm guessing most people reading this blog haven't actually read Punisher comics, but I'm sure you've seen at least one of the three Punisher movies. I'm sure you'll agree with me on this, how the hell is ABC going to do a primetime series starring The Punisher??

Because The View needed some competition, CBS has put together it's own version of the view called, "The Talk" starring Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini and Marissa Jaret Winokur. Today is was announced who their first week of guests would be. Model Christie Brinkley on Monday, Jennifer Lopez on Tuesday, Melissa Rycroft and former South Carolina first lady Jenny Sanford on Wednesday, actress Chandra Wilson on Thursday and Jamie Lee Curtis, Rick Fox and professional dancer Cheryl Burke on Friday.

CBS once again has purchased a blog for development, this one called Dear Girls Above Me. It was sold to them via Ashton Kutcher, does the former King of Twitter just own all the rights to the Internet for television? The Hollywood Reporter had some samples from the blog.

Samples, each prefaced with the phrase "Dear Girls Above Me":

-- “He said he was Spanish but not a Mexican. What the hell, that doesn’t even make sense!” It does to the entire country of Spain.

-- “Aww, I felt so bad, this homeless-looking bearded guy on Fairfax actually thought it was New Years.” Happy Rosh Hashanah ladies.

-- “I want a guy who’s gonna meet me half way, like the Black Eyed Pea’s song.” I want a girl who doesn’t quote the Black Eyed Peas.

-- “You can’t go on birth control, your tits will get bigger than mine! We had a plan!” Does this plan involve small boobs and a baby?

As much as I despise this idea of making shows from twitter and blogs, those are actually pretty funny.

Did you know that Sarah Palin has a show coming soon to TLC? If you didn't I bet you wish you didn't just read that. The show is set to air November 14th at 9:00 PM. Here's the trailer for those that enjoy watching Train Wreck television.

I've got more, but at this point my head is going to explode with all the stuff I've read the last few days.  I've got two Twitter accounts going and between the two of them I follow close to 800 people.  It truly is a gold mine for pop culture related stuff.  Stuff comes by so fast it just gets impossible to keep track of it.  It's truly one of the best and worst things I've ever seen.  Information just moves so quickly now, it's almost impossible to keep up.

What's playing in the Media Room - October 15th 2010

After working the 4:00 AM - 4:00 PM shift on Thursday; I wasn't really feeling catching up on much tele last night. I watched a bunch of the comedies in my sleepy haze. Caught up on Cougar Town and Modern Family from Wednesday night, I thought they were both very funny episodes. Both seem to be improving from week to week. Also caught up on Survivor from Wednesday, god they were so close to getting rid of NaOnka! I understand that the guy they voted out can be a douche at camp, but he tried at the challenges. Na has mentally checked out, soon will physically check out and is just mean. Silly, silly move. I hope either Marty or Na get the boot next episode. We also watched Community and Big Bang Theory, I've got a post coming about my thoughts about this 8:00 pm battle later today or tomorrow.

Did people catch the live 30 Rock episode? What did you think?

Ratings watch from last night:

Big Bang Theory was the second highest rated show behind The Mentalist at almost 12.5 million viewers. Awesome! I love that BBT is finally getting some attention. Community was up a bit but it's still getting destroyed by the geeks with only 4.8 million. Bleep My Dad Says actually went up last night to 10.1 million, COME ON PEOPLE! The live 30 Rock gimmick did wonders for the ratings and they got a season high 6.6 million. The CSI Grey's ratings battle wasn't even close last night with almost 2.5 million more watching CSI. The Mentalist drew 15.2
million last night, wow. Interestingly Private Practice dropped almost a million viewers between 10 and 10:30. Are people finally giving up on it?

Let's look at the Friday night lineup.

What's playing in the media room - October 13th 2010

After putting together the mega news post last night, I wasn't left with much time to actually watch television. I did watch an episode of Undercovers last night before blogging and man that show is boring as hell. I'm writing that one off my schedule once and for all. After blogging I did watch an episode of Hawaii Five-0, I'm really starting to enjoy this. The chemistry between the two main guys is getting better and better every week. Then I had a bit of time before heading to bed so I caught last nights episode of Raising Hope. They really need to re-cast the main character Jimmy as I find him to be awful, not really that funny and the worst part of the show. I'm loving Jimmy's parents played by Garret Dillahunt and the best part of the show Martha Plimpton.

Ratings watch from last night:

The producers of No Ordinary Family must be starting to get concerned, in three weeks they've dropped almost three million viewers. While they're doing better then Shark Tank which was in the same time-slot last year. They really can't afford to slip much further before ABC starts taking a closer look. A show that people are sure is soon to be canceled, which I can't wrap my head around as it's a good show. Is Detroit 1-8-7, down to 7.43 million last night, it premiered at 9.34, not great but not overly bad either. At this point shows numbers really should be leveling out a bit. I was happy to see that Running Wilde has dropped even further to a season low 3.53 million, how is this show still on? Raising Hope was 6.35 last night, so almost half tuned out at 9:30, please Fox, just PULL THE PLUG! I've always thought The Biggest Loser was a bigger draw, but only 7 million watched it last night. Took me by surprise, would have thought it was double digits since it's on year after year. Parenthood continues to pull low numbers, only 4.69 million this week, lower then Leno last year in the same time, ugh.

Enough of last night, let's look at tonight!

The Middle - 8:00 - ABC - Season 2 Episode 4

Episode Title: The Quarry

Mike makes Axl work with him at the quarry when he is suspended from school. Meanwhile, Frankie blames herself when Sue's school cuts the cross country team, and Brick makes the remote 'disappear' when practicing a magic trick.

Ever since the Everybody Love Raymond re-union premiere episode, I've here nothing about this show.

Survivor:Nicaragua - 8:00 - CBS - Season 21 - Episode 5

Episode Title: Turf Wars

"Drop your buffs."

Please, please, please let this be the week that NaOnka gets the boot.

Undercovers - 8:00 - NBC - Season 1 Episode 4

Episode Title: Jailbreak

Steven and Samantha travel to Ireland and then England in their endeaver to find a very important CIA hard drive, which has gone missing.

I painfully sat through another episode of this last night clearing up the pvr, the problem I have with this show is that it's so boring. Gerald McCraney is wasted on this.

Hell's Kitchen - 8:00 Two Hours - Fox - Season 8 Episode 7 and 8

Episode Title:HK8: Day Seven and Day Eight

Chefs will compete, Ramsey will yell and throw food in the garbage, someone will go home, repeat.

America's Next Top Model - 8:00 - The CW - Season 15 Episode 6

Episode Title: Patrick Demarchelier

Twelve Monkeys - 8:00 - 11:00 - CH

A psychriatrist finally believes a patient who claims to be a time-traveler sent to 1996 to prevent a holocaust.

Better With You - 8:30 - ABC - Season 1 Episode 4

Episode Title: Better With Fighting

Mia and Casey have their first fight, and Casey tries to find a way to smooth it over. Maddie intervenes with her own thoughts on the matter, but only makes things worse in her own relationship. Meanwhile, Vicky and Joel come up with a different way to resolve their fights.

I read yesterday that it doesn't look like this one is going to get canned, if ABC canned everything with bad ratings they wouldn't have any shows to fill the vacant time-slots. NBC has the same problem.

Modern Family - 9:00 - ABC - Season 2 Episode 4

Episode Title: Strangers on a treadmill

Claire tries to stop Phil from embarrassing himself at a realtors' banquet by giving an unfunny speech, while Mitchell tries to convince Cameron to change his wardrobe. Meanwhile, Jay and Gloria go to a quinceaƱera hosted by one of his employees, and Haley gives Alex advice on how to be cool.

Modern Family is really starting to roll again, another solid episode last week.

Criminal Minds - 9:00 - CBS - Season 6 Episode 4

Episode Title: Compromising Positions

The BAU travels to Ohio to identify a serial killer who is murdering married couples in Akron. Meanwhile, Agent Hotchner looks within the team to fill a recent vacancy.

Law and Order: Special Victims Unit - 9:00 - NBC - Season 12 Episode 5

Episode Title: Wet

When a strait-laced woman is found dead in a fountain after a night on the town, Detectives Benson and Stabler have a hard time putting together a clear picture of the victim. After the tox results are returned, suspicion falls on a professor at a local college with radical politics and equally radical ways to make his points. The question is, how much danger will the detectives put themselves in as long as they make their case against him?

Hellcats - 9:00 - The CW - Season 1 Episode 6

Episode Title: Ragged Old Flag

The Hellcats accept a challenge to take on the girls' volleyball team in a flag-football game. Lewis coaches the team and impresses Red Raymond with his strategy. Marti fakes an illness so she can miss the game and attend a conference with Julian. Alice and Savannah's rivalry grows when Alice wants the Hellcats to cheat but Savannah refuses.

The Tudors - 9:00 - CBC - Season 4 Episode 4

Episode Title: Natural Ally

The King's warm welcome in the North reinvigorates him and the queen's former lover threatens blackmail.

Cougar Town - 9:30 - ABC - Season 2 Episode 4

Episode Title: The Damage You've Done

Grayson decides that it's the right time to tell Jules about what had happened between Laurie and himself. After Jules knows the truth she tries to project her anger at someone, but cannot decide at who. While Laurie professes hel love for Smith, and Bobby gets obsessed with watching a street performer swallow a sword, and Andy gets Travis to doubt Kylie.

The Whole Truth - 10:00 - ABC - Season 1 Episode 4

Episode Title: True Confessions

When a well-to-do couple are found in a pool of blood, the woman dead and the man barely alive, the 16 year old son is prime suspect. When the son confesses, Jimmy takes the case trying to prove that the son was bullied into a confession.

The Defenders - 10:00 - CBS - Season 1 Episode 4

Episode Title: Nevada vs. Cerrado

What Nick thinks is a simple arson case may turn into a first degree murder conviction. Pete takes on a casino when a lottery winner looses it all after a night of high rolling.

I was enjoying this show, but like many others it seems; I just stopped tuning in.

Law and Order: Los Angeles - 10:00 - Season 1 Episode 3

Episode Title: Harbor City

A pro surfer who gave up the life to care for his mother is found murdered. Detectives Winters and Jaruszalski find themselves delving into not just the murder, but also the local beach culture. Once the suspects are set for trial, DDA Morales determines that one of his witnesses has been less than forthcoming. His next choice could make or break the case, and possibly his career.

Is anyone else overwhemled by all the legal procedural's on at 10? It seems a bit crazy to me, but hey, I'm not a network scheduler, what do I know.

Terriers - 10:00 - FX Network - Season 1 Episode 6

Episode Title: Ring-A-Ding-Ding

Hank and Britt go on a wild goose chase through Ocean Beach while searching for an antique engagement ring.

A & E is rocking the schedule again tonight: Dog the Bounty Hunter at 9 and Steven Seagal Lawman at 10:00.

New LA Ink on TLC tonight, Kat's crew is acting strange, will her digging ruin a surprise.

What's going on my pvr tonight as I'm hoping to finally catch The Town. Survivor, Modern Family, Crimnal Minds, Hellcats, Cougartown, Law and Order: LA and Terriers.

Enjoy your viewing.
