Daily TV News - September 23rd 2010

Good afternoon fellow tv viewers...here's you wrap up of the days events...didn't post anything yesterday because other then the American Idol news I didn't really think there was much to pass on...

On Tuesday night twitter and the rest of the Internet went wild with rumors that Lone Star was going to be cancelled before it even got to episode 2. Fox has come out and said hold your horses, they've got confidence in the show and it's not being cancelled, yet. As a viewer it certainly doesn't fill me with confidence for this shows future and I wonder why anyone would keep investing their time on a swamped Monday at 9:00 with this show if it's on it's last legs already. Critics loved the show before it aired and they praised it because it was a good show that was different. TV people are now worried because audiences often complain there is too much of the same thing on tv, reality, cop and legal shows. We the viewer get offered something else and we turn around and don't watch it because it's different. I'll be watching Lone Star on the weekend to see what the original hype was all about.

Fame star Debbie Allen has been slated to direct an upcoming episode of Hellcats, so does that mean we'll get strong cheering performances and nothing else? We'll have to wait and find out.

Jorge Garcia aka Hurley from Lost has signed up for his next television series, he'll be joining Matthew Perry's mid season replacement Mr. Sunshine.

I freaked out a couple days ago with the news that one of my favorites J.J. Abrams is putting together a show specifically for Michael Emerson (Ben Linus) and Terry O'Quinn (John Locke). Well today comes news that said show will be picked up by NBC for I'm assuming next year's fall lineup. I don't think they can get it all setup quick enough to come out this winter as a mid season replacement.

Bravo, the network that airs Top Chef is working on all stars edition starring former contestants. It will begin December 1st and former guest judge Anthony Bourdain will now be a full-time judge.

There are a lot of rumors flying around the set of Dancing With The Stars right now that both "The Situation" and Bristol Palin are interested in each. Both sides reps denies the rumors. What a brilliant pairing that'll be.

Apparently Katy Perry showed a wee bit too much skin and cleavage in Sesame Street for some parents groups liking and they've petitioned Sesame Street to drop the clip, they have.

Big Bang Theory have signed another nerd favorite to guest star in an upcoming episode. Buffy and Dollhouse star Eliza Dushku has agreed to play a FBI agent questioning the gang in regards to Wolowitz as he's applying for Secret clearance.

We've got a couple from the department of "Oh, thanks for sharing your opinion on something even though we don't care or didn't ask" Judge Judy has come out and said that Lindsey Lohan needs to go back to jail and get a dose of some reality. Adam Lambert has come out and said he approves the new American Idol judges. Whew, thanks Adam.

Teri Hatcher it was announced this afternoon has signed on to a role for this seasons Smallville. She'll be playing Lois Lane's mom! Kind of funny that she got her rise to fame by playing Lois in 1993's Lois and Clark.

Here's the first look at the return of Carter Hall in Smallville later this season.

Jason Wiles fresh from some summer work on Persons Unknown has signed on to a guest role in Law and Order:SVU

The writer of the 1990 mega hit Goodfellas is working on a treatment for Goodfellas: The tv series. As much as I love the movie, I really can't see how this could possibly even work. HBO already did the gangster thing, they're doing it again but in a much different time. I don't think they need a 80's version. The only way this could possibly work is by being on a cable network. Even then.

Fans who loved Charice's appearance in Tuesday's Glee, don't worry, she'll be back sometime around January when sectionals take place.

A couple of pieces for Monday's shows. Cuddy tries anyway she can to prove to Wilson that she is indeed dating House. Thank god, I didn't like that stunt she pulled by hiding in the closet when Wilson was there. In Monday's the Event a rather pivotal character from the premiere will be murdered. Someone else is not who he/she claims to be. Plus we'll find out why Scott Peterson was piloting the plane. I'm guessing they'll be lots of people pretending to be people on that show. Like EVERYONE. I really need to re-watch the pilot of The Event just to try and sort out the timing of it all.

That's all I've got for today.
