What's hitting the theatre this Friday?

It's Wednesday, you're starting to think about the weekend and what you'll be doing.  Going to the theatre perhaps? Well here's what's new this week.

Here we are with The Green Hornet:

Following the death of his father, Britt Reid, heir to his father's large company, teams up with his late dad's assistant Kato to become a masked crime fighting team.

Cast: Seth Rogen, Jay Chou, Cameron Diaz, Tom Wilkinson, Christoph Waltz, Edward James Olmos and Edward Furlong

Thoughts from the Media Room: I've had no desire to see this and I've been ripping on it pretty hard for a few weeks if not longer. But I didn't know Christoph Waltz was in it! That changes things for me, I still won't see it in the theatre, sorry Seth. I'll rent it. Seth do me a favor, team up with Jason Segel, Jay Baruchel and Jonah Hill and do something written by Judd Apatow. That's why people want to see you in. Well, it's what I want to see you in. Not this.

Next we have The Dilemma.

Since college, confirmed bachelor Ronny (Vaughn) and happily married Nick (James) have been through thick and thin. Now partners in an auto design firm, the two pals are vying to land a dream project that would launch their company. With Ronny’s girlfriend, Beth (Connelly), and Nick’s wife, Geneva (Ryder), by their sides, they’re unbeatable. But Ronny’s world is turned upside down when he inadvertently sees Geneva out with another man and makes it his mission to get answers. As the amateur investigation dissolves his world into comic mayhem, he learns that Nick has a few secrets of his own. Now, with the clock ticking and pressure mounting on the biggest presentation of their careers, Ronny must decide how and when he will reveal the truth to his best friend.

Cast: Vince Vaughn, Kevin James, Jennifer Connelly, Winona Ryder, Channing Tatum, Queen Latifah and Clint Howard.

Thoughts from the Media Room: I've been loving every trailer I've watched for this. LOVE Vaughn, he might play the same guy in every movie. But I love that guy. I'm more than concerned that I'm walking into another Couples Retreat, Vaughn's previous movie. Trailers looked great, walked outta there thinking, damn, the best parts were in the trailer. I HATE THAT! Hope you enjoyed my 12 bucks. Anyways, I don't want to fall into that trap again. The good thing here is that Dilemma was directed by Ron Howard. That may sway the meter from Rental to Theatre for me. Either way, I'll be watching this movie.

And Finally, we've got Ong Bak 3.

Ong Bak 3 picks up where Ong Bak 2 had left off. Tien is captured and almost beaten to death before he is saved and brought back to the Kana Khone villagers. There he is taught meditation and how to deal with his Karma, but very soon his arch rival returns challenging Tien for a final duel.

Cast: Tony Jaa

Thoughts from the Media Room: With this one you know exactly what you're getting. Non stop action from the first scene. The good thing is as noted in the description, it picks up right where the second one left off. Whew. Would you pay 12 bucks for this? Me either. On Demand, for free on a rainy Sunday afternoon.
