What's Playing in the Media Room - September 22nd 2011

Charlie's Angels - 8:00 - ABC - Season 1 Episode 1
Episode Title: Angel With a Broken Wing
In the series reboot, we're introduced to three new angels: Abby Sampson, a Park Avenue princess who became a world-class thief: Kate Prince, a Miami cop who fell from grace, losing both her career and her fiance; and Gloria, a disgraced army lieutenant who has a way with explosives. Things go horribly wrong with one of the angels' missions, and their elusive boss, Charlie Townsend, persuades them to partner with Gloria's childhood friend, Eve, a street racer with a mysterious past.

This one is supposed to be awful, like really awful.  If you've been reading here for a while, you know how much it bothers me when shows just name the first episode with the generic title Pilot.  They've actually got a title here and that might be the highlight here for me.

The Big Bang Theory - 8:00 - CBS/CTV - Season 5 Episode 1
Episode Title: The Skank Reflex Analysis
The gang deals with the fallout from Penny and Raj's night together. Amy counsels Penny when she considers moving back to Nebraska due to her failing acting career. Sheldon takes charge of the paintball team.

Oh baby!  I'm so very excited for this to return and we get a double episode!!

Community - 8:00 - NBC/CityTV - Season 3 Episode 1
Episode Title: Biology 101
The Greendale study group reunites; Jeff butts heads with the new biology teacher; Dean Pelton finds a new nemesis in the dean of the Air Conditioning Repair Annex.

Another one high on my list to see after a long summer.

Quite enjoyed the first episode and I'm excited to see what we've got here.

Episode Title: The Hybrid
Klaus puts a plan in motion that will give him even more power, but even with the unwilling participation of werewolf Ray Sutton, things don't go exactly as Klaus had planned. Jeremy turns to Matt for help as he continues to try to understand what the ghosts from his past want from him. Unaware that Caroline is in need of his help, Tyler faces an emotional confrontation with his mother.

Good lord we've got a tonne of great comedy tonight, did I mention Thursdays are my favorite night on television?

Grey's Anatomy - 9:00 Two Hours - ABC/CTV - Season 8 Episode 1/2
Episode Title: Free Falling/She's Gone
The fifth-year residents return for the first day of a year that will make or break their careers: Meredith faces the consequences of tampering with Derek's clinical trial and is terminated at the hospital; April tries to step up to the plate as Chief Resident in the wake of a giant sinkhole in the middle of Seattle; and Cristina and Owen are still at odds over their drastically different feelings for their unborn child.

News of Meredith and Derek's unsteady relationship raises a red flag for Zola's adoption counselor; Alex quickly realizes that he has become the outcast of the group after ratting out Meredith; and Cristina makes a tough decision regarding her unexpected pregnancy. Also, Chief Webber brings Henry in for a last minute surgery, alarming Teddy.

Person of Interest - 9:00 - CBS/CityTV - Season 1 Episode 1
Episode Title: Pilot
When the social security number of a young prosecutor comes up, Reese and Finch work together to figure out if their person of interest is the victim or perpetrator.

Good to have you back Ben.

The Office - 9:00 - NBC/Global - Season 8 Episode 1
Episode Title: The List
New Dunder Mifflin CEO Robert California leaves a piece of paper with a line down the middle that has names of the Scranton staff on either side of it, leading everyone to try and figure out what it means.

I'm sorry, but I'm not excited about this one.  Sure we'll find out who the boss is, but other than that is there a reason to watch?

The Secret Circle - 9:00/8:00 - The CW/CHCH - Season 1 Episode 2
Episode Title: Bound
In an effort to distance herself from the Circle and establish a normal teenage life in Chance Harbor, Cassie befriends Sally Matthews, a non-witch. Concerned their powers are getting out of control, Diana pushes everyone to bind the Circle, but Faye is thrilled with the increase in her powers and refuses to participate, while Melissa flirts with Nick despite Faye's warnings. Meanwhile, Adam fights his growing feelings for Cassie, but circumstances continue to throw them together, forcing Cassie to make a decision.

I'm warning you circle, I'm giving you one more episode and I'll be out.

Whitney - 9:30 - NBC - Season 1 Episode 1
Episode Title: Pilot
When Whitney and Alex, a happily unmarried couple, attend one of their friends' weddings, Whitney realizes that she and Alex are dangerously close to relationship boredom after three years together. Determined not to let that happen, Whitney consults her close circle of opinionated girlfriends Lily and Roxanne. Snapping into action she tries to seduce Alex in a sexy costume, but someone winds up in the emergency room.

Saw this last week and it's not that great.

The Mentalist - 10:00 - CBS - Season 4 Episode 1
Episode Title: Scarlet Ribbons

Prime Suspect - 10:00 - NBC/Global - Season 1 Episode 1
Episode Title: Pilot
Jane gets a rough start in her new New York homicide squad when she questions her new colleagues' work on a mysterious murder case. After complaining to her lieutenant about not getting cases, Jane manages to find a unique angle to help solve a crime. Meanwhile, Jane goes to her father for advice.

I'm intrigued by this one. Worth checking out for sure.
