What's Playing in the Media Room - October 16
Another one of those pesky US debates is messing with our television again tonight and frankly, the timing couldn't be better. I don't know about you, butI've got a tonne to catch up on. From what I've read on Twitter, it would appear that Claire Danes gave a performance on this weeks Homeland that should win her an Emmy. I've got to start season two of that one and I'm already three behind. I didn't end up watching a thing last night and I can't wait to watch Castle.
Speaking of last night, the ratings are in and Revolution CRUSHED it. The numbers continue to rise for the Rookie Drama. I think I've realized what's happening with Mob Doctor and why FOX hasn't cancelled it yet. They don't have to. We're square in the middle of the MLB Playoffs and this past Monday and at least next Monday, baseball is airing taking away from Mob Doctor episodes. So basically, there is no rush. I give it one episode post playoffs and it should get pulled.
Back to last night's lineup for a second. Revolution grabbed 8.82 Million viewers last night for a time-slot high 3.4 rating. Up another ten percent from last week. I have to give it credit, it's a show that has a great idea. Sure it has some bad, bad acting and some horrible writing on occasion. But people are tuning in for something different and I couldn't be happier. Viewers are finally saying, bring us something other than bad reality television or yet another lawyer/cop show and we'll watch.
Also from last night, shocking really. But young people aren't watching Dancing with the Also Rans. They drew the highest number of viewers with 12.44 million but came up near the rear with a poor 2.1 rating. Not good. I for one thing this 4 hour a week drama fest has had its time in the sun and ABC should move on.
One last thing about ratings, did you hear how many people watched The Walking Dead's two airing Sunday night? 15.2 MILLION. That is nuts for a cable show. Nuts.
Take a look of this picture of Hugo from Lost in his role on Once Upon a Time. Read about the role here from TvGuide.
How many were able to ID Don Stark former Bob Pinciotti from That 70's Show in Castle last night?
