Fall TV Preview - Monday's

People have been asking me for weeks now about the upcoming tv season, what have I heard about show x or show y. That’s really the point of this blog, a place for me to gather the info and present it for my friends to have for one stop shopping when it comes to all forms media. In these posts I will list the premiere dates, what season the show is on, promo’s, pictures and scoops that I’ve compiled from the internet for you. Plus it’ll also have a quick note on how the season ended last year for those who require the quick recap.

So I’ve been torn for weeks on how I was going to put together my Fall TV Preview Post. I didn’t know if I wanted it by network, by day, by new show/old show or by some other way. I’ve decided to go day by day, and then you can just print out the day that you want and have it on your coffee table for a run down for what you need to watch that night and what that new show is about. A warning: some of these notes might be considered spoilers and because of that I’ll be putting together a post of just the Premiere Dates.

So naturally I’m going to start with Monday and go through the schedule.

8:00 PM
ABC:
Dancing with the Stars (Starts September 20th, 11th Season)
  • Cast announcement will be August 30th during Bachelor Pad
Rumored Cast:
  • Kurt Warner – NFL Player
  • The Situation – From Jersey Shore
  • Landon Donavon – MLS Player
  • Jon Gosselin – From Jon and Kate
  • Oksana Griborieva – Mel Gibson’s Baby Mama
Where we left off: Nicole Scherzinger won last season.

NBC:
Chuck (Starts September 20th, 4th Season)
  • The big rumour that came out during the summer was Linda Hamilton would be playing Chuck’s mom this season.
  • First episode titled: Chuck Versus the Anniversary
  • General Beckman will now be a regular character meaning that we'll finally see her do a lot more than sit behind her desk and give orders via a web cam. The third and fourth episode will be titled 'Chuck vs. the Cubic Z' and 'Chuck vs. the Coup d'État' respectively. Chuck will go away on a mission in the fourth episode meaning we won't see the Buy More and there will be no Greta character
  • Want more details about this special fourth episode? Premier Alejandro Goya, once again played by Armand Assante, will invite Awesome and that gang to his island in order to repay his debt to Awesome for having saved his life.
  • Isaiah Mustafa (The Old Spice Guy) and Stacy Keibler will be guest-starring this season. and they'll both be playing the same character, sort of. Here is how Zachary Levi explains this character: "[They will play] this recurring character. There's a character named Greta who's going to be in almost every episode, but it's played by a different actor every time. It's this CIA worker -- the CIA has now taken over the Buy More, and there all these different government workers who are staffing it, so you see different ones, but the same one, named Greta in every episode. ... It's a guy or a girl, you never know." Some time will have passed between seasons. Since the Buy More was destroyed, Jeff and Lester are on the lam, Chuck is not working for he government but Sarah and Casey are. The new CIA-run Buy More will be a well-oiled machine -- so well -oiled that it won't even be a good cover anymore. Therefore, decisions will be made to bring the Buy More back to where it was in all its glory.
  • Chuck has recruited 'Incredible Hulk's' Lou Ferrigno to guest-star in this season's second episode. Ferrigno will play the bodyguard of an evil spy/model to be played by ex-Victoria's Secret Angel Karolina Kurkova.
  • Olivia Munn will play an impossibly cool, smart, and pretty CIA agent who intimidates and schools Chuck and Morgan in the season 4 premiere. That just so happens to be the same episode that features a guest turn by iconic 'Rocky IV' villain Dolph Lundgren. The show is looking for a real-life supermodel to play a dangerous, sexy, and kick-ass supermodel in this season's second episode, titled 'Chuck vs. the Suitcase.
  • Nicole Richie will reprise her role of Sarah's high school nemesis in October when a prison transfer goes awry and her character, Heather Chandler, ends up being stowed away at Castle. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is making a comeback in the same October episode.
  • In the premiere, Dolph Lundgren will play Marko, a Russain bad guy. In the same episode, Harry Dean Stanton will play a man who comes between Chuck and his search for Mom.
Question: I need some Chuck scoop!

Ausiello: Captain Awesome won’t be reviving his short-lived career as an international superspy anytime soon. “Last season Awesome realized if there was one place in the world where he wasn’t awesome, it was on spy missions,” notes exec producer Chris Fedak. “He’d like to stay as far away from the spy world as he can.” That’s particularly true now that there’s a mini Awesome on the way. “He is going to be way more into all of the rituals of pregnancy than even Ellie is,” says fellow EP Josh Schwartz of the daddy-to-be. “Like all things in life, Awesome is going to throw himself into the pregnancy with his usual fervor.”

Check out the season 4 promo.

Where we left off: In the finale of Season 3, Shaw is revealed to be alive and has downloaded the Intersect as well, and attempts to kill Sarah, Chuck and Casey, and compromise both the NSA and CIA. Chuck successfully thwarts this plan, although his father is killed and his sister finally discovers his double life. The side-effects from the Intersect cause Chuck to regain a childhood memory in which he learns that he accidentally downloaded an early copy of the Intersect into his brain when he was still a young child. The season ends with a retired Chuck discovering his father's secret spy base, dedicated to locating and protecting Chuck's mother and performing spywork that "governments are afraid to do.

CBS:
How I Met Your Mother (Starts September 20th, 6th Season)
  • The season kicks off with a “game changing moment”
  • I’m hearing that moment might be a wedding that takes place in the future.
  • That could be Ted’s wedding.
  • Rachel Bilson will be back this season.
  • Laura Bell Bundy will have a recurring guest role this season
  • First episode titled “Big Days”
  • Ted will go out with Zoey, an activist protesting the destruction of a New York hotel. It won't surprise you if I tell you that Ted is the man behind the destruction plans.
  • Season 6 will be more emotionally invested in the characters' lives and tweak he larger mystery of the series in a way that was never done before. The Mother's roommate, played by Rachel Bilson, will return in the season. The premiere will also offer some glimpses into the future that will actually alter the way they tell the story. The episode will also sort of ends the gimmick of viewers thinking every new girl Ted meets may be the mother.
  • Robin Sparkles will return and take Robin back to her tween days, when she starred in an outer-space themed kids' show in which she had a partner in crime named Glitter. Marshall and Lily's desire to make a baby kicks off in the season premiere. The couple's baby drama inspires Barney to go on his own journey, to try to meet his real father. And we're not talking Bob Barker.
  • There is a rumour out there that Ben Vereen will be playing Barney’s father.
  • In a season-long arc, Ted will be called back to Goliath National Bank to design its new headquarters, which means he'll be working with Barney and Marshall. To put up the new building, he'll have to destroy an old New York landmark. It will be a moral dilemma for him, which puts him in direct conflict with a woman whose
  • The official writeup of the episode: “Big Days” — When Ted and Barney argue about who has “dibs” on a hot girl, Ted realizes that she is there with Cindy, a girl he previously dated who is also the roommate of his future wife. Meanwhile, Robin is heartbroken over Don, and Marshall can’t keep quiet about his desire to start a family.
A picture from production, Ben Vereen with Wayne Brady who plays Barney`s brother.

Where we left off: Lily and Marshall discuss the idea of having a baby, though Lily is unsure. The couple decide to leave it until they finally glimpse the last of the group's doppelgängers. Eventually, Lily sees a man she believes to be the final doppelgänger, which, although disputed by the remainder of the group, proves that both members of the couple are ready to have a baby.

FOX:
House (Starts September 20th, 7th Season)
  • Jennifer Grey will find herself in a no-win situation when she guest-stars on the show this fall. Grey will play Abbey, the mother of an infant daughter who is displaying signs of a life-threatening illness. As House and Co. investigate her daughter's developing symptoms, Abbey is faced with a treatment decision for her newborn that could affect not only her baby's life but her own. Her episode is scheduled to air in mid-October
  • Amber Tamblyn will appear in multiple episodes as a whip-smart med student House recruits for his diagnostic team - despite the fact that she isn't yet 100 percent qualified to treat patients
  • First episode is titled Thunder Roadtrip.
  • House will act like a teenager in love, skipping school and whisking Cuddy away for an idyllic day. As the season will progress, the couple will try to do normal couple-y things. House will try to stay off drugs.
  • New opening credits: Katie Jacobs, who's working on the revamp as we speak. "It's not all new," she says, "but I'm making a few changes because Jennifer [Morrison] is no longer in the main titles. And I am changing a little bit more than that, but I'm not changing so much that you're losing what you love about the opening titles." Jacobs also confirmed that a "few new names"—presumably Olivia Wilde and Peter Jacobson—have been added to the opening as well.
  • When will Cameron be back? Producers have an option to bring her back for three episodes, but it remains to be seen if that option will be exercised. My guess is it will, but not until later in the season.
Question: Any word on if we will see House babysitting Cuddy’s baby this season on House? —Janine

Ausiello: We will. An early season 7 episode will find Dr. Crankydoodle spending some one-on-one time with little Rachel. The playdate will underscore one of the biggest challenges facing Huddy. “She’s a single parent, and I think it’s only right that we deal with that issue,” says exec producer Katie Jacobs. “House is her significant other, and she also has a kid. We will explore the reality of what that means and how willing Cuddy is at first to share Rachel and expose her child to the relationship. And because it is a real relationship, I think she feels obligated to.”

A couple of pics from production:

How it ended last season: After a crane collapse buries a woman beneath rubble, House must split his time between staying with her and diagnosing the crane operator who passed out. New Show!

The Event: (September 20th, 1st season)

The first of the new shows that I’m writing about, you’ve probably have watched those promo’s for this show, What is the Event? It seems very Flashfowardy to me. Check out a promo.

Premise: The Event is an emotional, high-octane conspiracy thriller that follows Sean Walker (Jason Ritter, "The Class"), an everyman who investigates the mysterious disappearance of his would-be fiancée Leila (Sarah Roemer, "Disturbia"), and unwittingly begins to expose the biggest cover-up in U.S. history.

Sean's quest will send ripples through the lives of an eclectic band of strangers, including newly elected U.S. President Elias Martinez (Golden Globe nominee Blair Underwood, "In Treatment"); Sophia Maguire (Emmy Award nominee Laura Innes, "ER"), who is the leader of a mysterious group of detainees; and Leila's shadowy father (Scott Patterson, "Gilmore Girls"). Their futures are on a collision course in a global conspiracy that could ultimately change the fate of mankind.

Basically, here are three “events!”
  • One is Jason Ritter’s girlfriend disappearing, with no sign that she was ever there, from a fancy beach resort hotel.
  • The second is the President discovering there’s a secret facility in Alaska that the CIA has been covering up, where something weird has been going on.
  • The third is an attempted assassination of that same president.
Cast:
  • Jason Ritter as Sean Walker. An MIT graduate, Walker is driven by his love for Leila, and is willing to do anything to find her.
  • Sarah Roemer as Leila Buchanan
  • Blair Underwood as President Elias Martinez
  • Laura Innes as Sophia Maguire
  • Željko Ivanek as CIA Director Blake Sterling
  • Ian Anthony Dale as CIA Operative Simon Lee
  • Scott Patterson as Michael Buchanan
  • Clifton Collins Jr. as Thomas
  • Bill Smitrovich as Vice President Raymond Jarvis
  • Lisa Vidal as First Lady Christina Martinez
  • Taylor Cole as Vicky Roberts
Here`s a picture of some of the cast becase I know you know some of the names but maybe not the faces that go with them.

From what I can tell, this sounds a lot like a television event, something you should know about me. I LOVE television events! I’ll be checking this out, I hope it lasts long enough so we actually find out what the event is. I’m looking at you NBC and Person’s Unknown, airing an episode on the internet and not on tv! Sheesh…

And finally a preview...

CBS:
Two and a Half Men (September 20th, 8th Season)

A lot of drama for this show during the off season with all the stuff going on with Charlie Sheen.

Haven’t found any spoilers or scoops as of yet.

How it ended: When Charlie loses his license due to several unpaid traffic violations and failure to show up in court, Jake drives him around. Alan goes to Chelsea's birthday party, and Charlie sends Jake in too so that he can give her a forgotten gift. After being given the gift Chelsea leaves in an upset fit and finds Charlie being arrested for crashing into a police car.

FOX:

New Show!

Lonestar (September 20th, 1st Season)

Another new one from Fox, Metacritic describes this “"if this isn’t the best-received pilot of the season, it’s close” and "unlike anything else currently on TV." Sounds promising.
Premise: Robert Allen (James Wolk) is a Texas con-man who leads a secret double life. As "Bob", he is married to Cat and living in Houston while working for his oil-tycoon father-in-law. Four hundred miles away, he is "Robert" in a second life with girlfriend Lindsey. As he schemes to take control of the oil business, he must fight to keep his web of lies from falling apart, while torn between the love of two women.

Cast:
  • James Wolk portrays Robert/Bob Allen, a Texas con man married to Cat, the daughter of one of his targets in Houston, while simultaneously maintaining a relationship with Lindsay in Midland, Texas. He is in love with both women and begins to wish for a normal life.
  • Adrianne Palicki portrays Cat Thatcher, the daughter of Clint. At a young age, she married her boyfriend from high school and had a daughter with him. Their marriage ended in divorce, and she later married Bob Allen, seeing in him the qualities that were lacking in her ex.
  • Eloise Mumford portrays Lindsay, the unsuspecting girlfriend of Robert Allen, living in Midland.
  • David Keith portrays John Allen, the father of Robert Allen. He raised his son to be a con man and pushes him to stay in.
  • Bryce Johnson as Drew Thatcher, the youngest of Clint's three children. He admires his brother-in-law.
  • Mark Deklin as Trammell Thatcher, the elder son of Clint. Unlike his brother, he is suspicious of Bob's motives. Married to Blake.

  • Jon Voight as Clint Thatcher, a Texas oil tycoon and father of Cat, Drew, and Trammell.

Recurring Cast
  • Andie MacDowell as Alex, an art appraiser. Clint becomes romantically interested in her, however, she proves more dangerous than anyone realizes.
  • Rosa Blasi portrays Blake, the Lady Macbeth-esque trophy wife of Trammell.
  • Chad Faust portrays Harrison, the ex-husband of Cat whom she sees as her high-school mistake. Roguish and unfaithful, he returns to Houston claiming he has changed

The CW:
Gossip Girl (September 13th, 4th Season)

  • Tim Gunn will play himself in an October episode.
  • Sam Page, who recently appeared on 'Desperate Housewives,' will travel to the Upper East Side and stick around for at least four episodes. He will play a professor at Columbia who will often share the screen with Serena.
  • One of my 'Gossip Girl' wish may happen as various sources report that Blake Lively wants off the show due to the show's behind-the-scenes drama and because continuing playing Serena doesn't fit in her upcoming career plans. I have nothing against Lively but Serena is my least favorite character due to her whining and complaining, and because of all the stupid misfortunes that happen to her because she mostly makes terrible decisions. Supposedly she would like the series to kill off her character in a sweeps even episode. But let's not rejoice too soon, executive producer Josh Schwartz claim these are false rumors. Too bad.
  • Speaking of Serena, she'll bring back someone when she returns from her Paris trip. This new man is said to be older, have responsibilities and may not have the patience for Serena's and her friends' antics.
  • Georgina's baby is named Milo.
  • The baby Dan is cradling in the season four promo is Georgina's baby and not Dorota's as some people speculated.
  • Blair does not have a new love interest in the works. If you've seen the pictures of Dan and Vanessa pushing around a stroller, know that the word is that it's Dan's actual baby!
  • Katie Kassidy's character on the show will be named Juliet Sharp.
  • There is a nighttime scene planned for the premiere in which Blair and Serena have one of their famous catfights. The scene is shot in a gorgeous French fountain and Blair will shove Serena straight into it.
The Promo:

How it ended: In the season finale, Jenny moves back to Hudson to stay with her mother after sleeping with Chuck as an attempt to feel loved by someone. Jenny tells Eric who convinces her to tell Dan. Blair and Chuck get together the night Jenny is there, but breakup again after discovering Chuck slept with Jenny. Blair and Serena fly to Paris for the summer, Georgina Sparks played by Michelle Trachtenberg comes back with a big surprise for Dan, claiming she is pregnant with his unborn child and Nate attempts to deal with his break-up from Serena in a very Chuck-like way. Most shockingly of all, in the final scene of the episode Chuck is walking along the ally, drunk and two muggers approach him. They found his ring that was supposed to be for Blair. They took the ring and Chuck fights back, but a gunshot sounds and the muggers run, and Chuck falls to the ground, closing his eyes, showing that he was the one who was shot.

9:30 PM

However, they also have to deal with the comments, jokes, and criticism from Mike's fast-talking partner Carl McMillan; Molly's attractive sister Victoria and mother Joyce; and Samuel, a Senegalese waiter at the cops' favorite restaurant.

Cast:
  • Billy Gardell as Officer Mike Biggs

10:00 PM
ABC:
Castle (September 20th, 3rd Season)

This is becoming one of my favorite shows on television right now, it’s a fun and quirky cop show that doesn’t take itself too seriously. I recommend this to anyone that’s looking for something light and fluffy but still enjoyable.
  • Alexis' new boyfriend Ashley, to be played by 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager's' Ken Baumann, will be introduced in the fourth episode. In this episode, titled 'Punked,' Castle mistakes Ashley for a girl. Imagine the horror when he discovers that Ashley is a boy who is dating his daughter!
  • Beckett's new love interest will be a biker. The good news? This new love interest won't appear in all episodes giving more screen time to the couple we are really rooting for: Castle and Beckett.
  • A boyfriend for Beckett will be introduced in episode 4. It's someone new and surprising. Castle and his ex-wife will be going strong at that point in time even if he would prefer to be with Beckett.
  • In the second episode of Castle's upcoming third season, an extended member of the Castle family will die. It's one of these three people: Chet, the never-seen boyfriend of Castle's mother, Martha; Meredith, Castle's first ex-wife and Alexis' mother, who has been living in Los Angeles; or Gina, Castle's second ex-wife with whom he reconnected in the season finale. This may or may not be a clue to the victim's identity: The season 3 premiere opens with Kate Beckett and her team arresting Castle after discovering him hovering over a dead body. Lanie has become romantically involved with Esposito. She will also be forming a closer after-hours relationship with Beckett.
  • The show is looking to add a possibly recurring character to the cast. A middle-aged former cop-turned-bounty-hunter, the character is described as a larger-than-life figure with a good sense of humor.
  • We'll learn a lot more about Beckett's early years on the force in this season's third episode when her training officer becomes the focal point of a case. Said training officer is being played by Jason Beghe, and rumor has it the two may have been romantically involved back in the day.
  • The writers are creating an incredibly manipulative villain who will get away and become a thorn in Beckett's and Castle's sides. This serial killer, known as "3xK" kills in threes and will have the delicious appeal of a Hannibal Lecter.
  • The first episode is titled A Deadly Affair.
Check out the upcoming season’s promo.

NBC:

New Show!

Chase (September 20th, 1st season)

  • Rose Rollins as Daisy Ogbaa

  • Sierra Palmer as Ashley Cantwell

ABC:
Hawaii Five-O

New Show!
Another remake, from TV this time and not movies. It’s got a great cast, I’m just not sold on it as of yet.

Detective Steve McGarrett, a decorated US Navy lieutenant commander turned cop, returns to Oahu to investigate his father's murder and stays after Hawaii's governor persuades him to head up the new team: his rules, her backing, no red tape and full blanket immunity to hunt down the biggest "game" in town. Joining McGarrett is Detective Danny "Danno" Williams, a newly relocated ex-New Jersey cop who prefers skyscrapers to the coastline but is committed to keeping the Islands safe for his 8-year-old daughter (His re-married ex-wife also lives in Honolulu); and Chin Ho Kelly, an ex-Honolulu Police detective wrongly accused of corruption and relegated to a federal security patrol, who is also a former protege of McGarrett's father. Chin's cousin, Kono, is a beautiful and fearless local, fresh out of the academy and eager to establish herself among the department's elite.
