Live Blog the Screen Actors Guild Awards - Part One

Before the show starts there are some essential things that need to happen.

7:52 - The snack mix has gone into the oven to bake.  Tonight's choice is: Shreddies, Cheerios, Crispex, Cheese Nips, Small Pretzels, Chow Mien Noodles that's been coated in margarine, Worcester sauce, garlic powder and seasoning salt.  Set to bake for an hour with a stir every 15 minutes.  Mmmmm.

7:57 - Pint glass has gone into the freezer to chill over, gotta love that cola product so cold that it actually burns going down.  Mmmmm.

7:58 - Already to go.  Spot on the couch has been prepped and is ready to go.

8:00 - It's Go Time. Patrick Duffy? What's he doing there? Promoting the new Dallas reboot.

8:01 - Ohhh hahaaa those actors, they're soooo funny when left up to them selves to entertain without the words that the writers have written for them. #sarcastic

8:01.30 - Ok, this is like thee worst intro to an awards show I've ever seen.

8:02 - Ohhhh, they're feeding them and boozing it up.  Come on entertaining speeches.

8:03 - Don't mind us when we take this brief moment to remind you how serious and awesome actors are.

8:03.30 - So they feed them, but then they make these little speeches while it appears their food is getting cold.  Oh, the sacrifices these actors have to make.

8:04 - Outstanding Male Actor in a Support Role is up first, let's see what we've got here.  Armie Hammer is such a Hollywood name and I love it.  Christopher Plummer gets the award, I've got one prediction right so far.  Not a bad start.

8:09 - Wow, George is making an early appearance at this award show.  The Descendents gets a preview for those who haven't watched it yet.  Me included.

8:10 - Don Cheadle, nice.  Are you watching Showtime's House of Lies? No? You should be, it's dark and hilarious.

8:11 - Outstanding Female Actor in a Supporting Role is the next award.  Octavia Spencer goes two for two with this one and the Globe.  I was hoping for McCarthy to see some comedies get some loving.

8:17 - Good time for a break, I really need to stir up that snack mix.  Mmmmm.  Smelling so good.

8:20 - Two of the bigger stars on tv are here to announce the Outstanding Male Actor in a Comedy Series.  Alec Baldwin continues his streak with yet another win.

8:23 - A shout out to the writers, that's nice. "Happy to win so many times in a row." Not so nice there Alec.

8:25 - Outstanding Female Actor in a Comedy Series goes to Betty White for the second year in a row.

8:28 - Seeing Kyle Chandler there makes me think of the Friday Night Lights movie that is hopefully coming.  Get on it already.  I missed FNL.  If you haven't watched it, get to your local retailer and get it.  One of the best shows I've ever watched, like ever.  Seriously.  Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't LOSE!

8:29 - Union talk.  I can stir up the mix a bit here.

8:32 - Outstanding Comedy Series here to be awarded by a Hollywood couple that I can never see breaking up.  Modern Family wins it yet again.

8:41 - Woah, bringing out a couple heavy hitters. Glenn Close and Kevin Brannah.  Outstanding Female Actor in a TV Mini Series or TV Movie.  While they're announcing the nominees, I can smell that snack mix and it's smelling just about ready. Mmmmm.  Kate Winslet wins yet again for Mildred Pierce.

8:44 - The ladies from The Help are here to show us the film.

8:46 - Outstanding Male Actor in a TV Mini-Series or TV Movie is here and it's going to Paul Giamatti.

8:49 - Another we are so great moment.

8:52 - Wow, that next season of Survivor is coming up fast.  Here's hoping this season is better than the last season.  Wow, it was a snorefest after the half way point.

It's 8:57 so I'm just going to start the second post.
